Abstract

Procedure for the preparation of derivatives of alpha-aminooxycarboxylic acids of the general formula I **(See formula)** where X is hydrogen or an acyl radical, R is hydrogen or an alcohol, aralcohyl or aryl group; and Z signifies a substituted or unsubstituted alcohol or cycloalcoyl group, containing 1 to 15 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aralkoxy or aryl group or a heterocyclic group, and their acid addition salts formed with therapeutically usable acids, and of the optically active isomers of the compounds containing an asymmetric carbon atom, characterized in that derivatives of alpha-amino-carboxylic acids of the general formula II are reacted **(See formula)** where A represents an acyl radical or, when X represents a hydrogen atom in the reaction product to be prepared, a suitable protecting group for the transient protection of the amino group, for example a benzyloxycarbonyl or tert-butyloxycarbonyl group, B means a group hydroxyl or a group suitable for the activation of the carboxyl group, advantageously a pentachlorophenoxy group, a halogen atom or an N3 group, and R has the above meaning, with amines of the general formula III H2N - Z (III) in which Z has the above meaning, and eventually, from the reaction product obtained from the general formula IV **(See formula)** in which A, R and Z have the above meanings, the protecting group A introduced for the transient protection of the amino group is separated in a manner known per se, and if desired the compound of the general formula I obtained is transformed into a salt by adding therapeutically usable acid and/or if desired, the compound obtained is N-acylated and/or the compound of the general formula I obtained is split in a racemic manner, in a manner known per se, into the optically active isomers.
