Abstract
Apparatus for detecting incorrectly filled transparent bottles or containers having a truly cylindrical shape in the region of the desired level of filling, including a bottle inspection station where successive bottles can be transported for inspection, a projector adapted to project a light beam so as to collide with a bottle or container at the inspection post at a predetermined level, and a photoelectric device mounted behind the container relative to the projector, characterized in that the projector is adapted to project a light beam having a dimension narrow vertical, and because the photoelectric device has an active surface whose upper margin almost intersects the lower edge of the beam after the latter has passed through the neck of a bottle or container not filled to the height where the beam collides, said active surface being quite long for that the beam always collides in it when it is deflected or refracted downwards when passing through the liquid contained in a container filled above the level where the beam collides.
