Abstract

An improved tube and coil feeder apparatus comprising: - hopper means to contain a plurality of coil tubes in an axially horizontal position, which has two sides in decline in its lower part in the downward direction and which has a slot between said sides, of sufficient size to admit a plurality, exceeding three, of said tubes, one next to the other; - tubes receiving and feeding means adapted to describe a pivoting transverse movement through said slot of the hopper and beyond it, from the position of reception of the tubes to the position of unloading thereof, and having a slot sufficient to receive a coil tube in an axially horizontal position, between the ends of said receiving and feeding means, these presenting an arched configuration, below said spacing means and spaced therefrom; and - coil tube retaining means for retaining a coil tube within said groove of the power receiver during the transverse travel thereof from said reception position to said discharge position, whereby one of said coil tubes placed inside of said hopper means and facing said receiving and feeding means, in the transverse path of said receiving means to the aforementioned position of receiving tubes, falls into said slot of the feeding receiver, to be retained within it by said retention means, and said tube, during the transverse movement of said feed receiver from the aforementioned receiving position beyond said sides of the hopper to said discharge position of the tubes, is brought into said slot of the power receiver and, in the mentioned discharge position, it is downloaded from said slot of the receiver.
