Abstract
Improved iron ore pellets are obtained by reducing the S content of roasted pyrite to below 2.5% total S and 1% S bound as sulphide, effected by applying a second roasting treatment prior to the calcining and chlorinating procedure. Pref. the S content is already reduced in the aggregate obtained from roasting the pyrite.
