Abstract
A process for the preparation of a condensation product of an aromatic diazonium compound, the compound of which comprises at least one unit of each of the general types A (-D) n and B which are linked by a bivalent intermediate element derived from a condensation-like carbonyl compound, in which A is a radical of a compound containing at least two members selected from the group consisting of an aromatic ring and a heterocyclic ring of aromatic nature, the compound of which is capable of condensation at least in one position with an active carbonyl compound in a medium acid, D is a diazonium salt group attached to an aromatic carbon atom of A, n is an integer from 1 to 10 and B is a radical of a compound free of diazonium groups and capable of condensation at least in one position with an active carbonyl compound in an acidic medium, the condensation product containing, on average, about 0.01 to 50 units B per unit A (-D) n; whose method consists of reacting at least one compound A (-D) n and at least one compound B in a strongly acidic medium, in the presence of a condensable carbonyl compound.
