Abstract

A rechargeable aerosol dispenser 1 with a charging valve 11 has a gas venting arrangement comprising a hollow member 48 open to the dispenser interior through a passage 49, which is closed by a float 50 raised by liquid entering the dispenser, and a vent tube 47 from the hollow member having its lower end within a gasket 13 co-operating with the end cap 3 to form a venting valve. The venting valve is opened for gas to flow between the gasket 13 and cap 3 and between the cap and stem 15 when the stem moves the valve 11 away from the gasket for charging the dispenser from the reservoir 60. Fibrous or porous material 18 in the upper end of the tube 47 inhibits the flow of any liquid which may enter the member 48 into the tube.
