Compounds of formula wherein Z is H or C 1-4 alkyl, R2, R3 are each halogen, or C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy and R1 is C 1-10 alkyl, C 1-4 haloalkyl, an unsaturated C 2-4 aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, or benzyl possibly substituted by C 1-4 alkyl or alkoxy groups, are prepared by etherification of the corrsponding starting material, where R1 = H, with R1Q (Q being a reactive atom or group) under basic conditions.
