Abstract
A plate type yoke for a disc-brake is formed from a metal blank having approximately the external outline shown in Fig. 1. The ends 12 are turned downwards and the part between these ends is raised to form a lateral ridge 11 so that the edges 13 (Fig. 3) are of arcuate form to match the wheel rim and the rim of the disc. A generally T-shaped aperture 16 is now formed and the edges 17 are machined. The ridge may be formed in three stages from a heated or cold blank. A bracket 21 is secured to the yoke.
