Abstract

Lithographic plates comprise a glass photoconductive layer having a hydrophilic surface bearing a hydrophobic xerographic image. The glass photo-conductive layer is on a conductive support and is either a homogeneous single phase layer or a dispersion of an organic or inorganic photo-conductor in a glass binder. The image may be formed by imagewise exposing a uniformly charged layer, developing the resulting electrostatic image with a toner preferably admixed with a liquid or magnetic carrier, and fusing the developed toner image to the layer. The plate may be cleaned for re-imaging by removing the toner image with solvent and, if necessary, fusing the glass layer.
