Abstract

Sulphur dioxide is removed from a hot gas stream by adsorption by calcined dolomite dispersed in the gas stream. Hot gases containing SO2 are directed through a duct to a permeable filter after first cooling the gases to below 900 DEG F. by means of a heat exchanger and then feeding in calcined dolamite. The subsequent deposition of the calcined dolomite on the filter enhances the efficiency of adsorption of the sulphur dioxide.ALSO:Sulphur dioxide is removed from a hot gas-stream by adsorbtion by calcined dolomite dispersed in the gas stream.
