Abstract

Necked containers, e.g. bottles are arranged in at least two layers one above the other, with the necks of the containers in the lowermost layer projecting through holes in a panel P 2 so that they are contacted by the bottoms of the containers resting on top of the panel P 2 , the necks of these containers in the second layer projecting through holes in a further panel P 1 . The containers on the panel P 1 are prevented from moving by a raised edging 4. The package may be stacked on a pallet 5 with an encircling binding 7. A grid type panel (Fig. 4, not shown) may be utilized.
