Abstract

Yarns are prepared by melt-spinning poly- (ethylene - 1 : 2 - diphenoxyethane - 4 : 41 - dicarboxylate) or its copolyester in which at least 85% of the structural units are of the specified kind, and cold-drawing the resultant yarn in two stages. At the first stage is used either a snubbing-pin at above 70 C. and up to 130 C. or a feed-roll at above 50 C. and up to 90 C. at the second stage is used a plate or feed-roll at 170-200 C.
