Abstract
An annular magnetic core having an external diameter less than 0À9 mm., an internal diameter of at least half the external diameter, a height from 0À2 to 0À3 mm., a value of uVl>18mV, and a value of uVl/dVz not less than 5 at a disturbance ratio of 0À55 and a rise time of 0À2Á sees., is manufactured by sintering a presintered product prepared from a mixture of oxides or equivalent compounds having the composition: The manufacturing process comprises preparing a finely-divided mixture of the oxides, presintering between 600 and 700 C., pulverizing, granulating using an organic binder such as polyvinyl alcohol, separating a fraction with a grain size between 50Á and 120Á, moulding these granules into rings, introducing the rings into an oven on a Pt-Rh alloy plate at such a rate that the rings reach a zone between 1350 and 1370 C. within 60 seconds, cooling the rings at not more than 30 /min. to a temperature between 930 and 975 C. and quenching the rings in air at room temperature, wherein the oven atmosphere is air or air and oxygen.
