Abstract

The invention is connected to the technical area of the sport, especially to equipment for downhill skiing, and the medico-technical area of appliances for the lower limbs. The apparatus is characterised in that it comprises a knee support for each lower limb, which support essentially comprises two profiled plates (13) and (14) which are appropriately rounded, one (13) of which surrounds the thigh while the other (14) surrounds the shin and can interact with part of the boot the upper plate (13) is extended downwards by two parallel arms (13a) which are situated opposite one another and which are profiled and articulatedly mounted to a spindle (4) in each case, on both sides of the knee, while the lower plate (14) is extended upwards by two parallel arms which are situated opposite one another and which are profiled and articulatedly mounted round the spindle (4) in connection with the plate (13), the lower plate being actuated by elastic members which can be tensioned when the knee bends, this occurring in conjunction with appropriate means (7)-(13b) which are formed in such a way that they can eliminate this interplay beyond a certain bending angle, the means being connected to a manual decoupling member (11) to eliminate the entire elastic actuation process.
