Abstract

In a seal for a door which surrounds a baking oven muffle and which consists of a continuously extruded sealing profile made of silicone rubber with a sealing lip and a hollow chamber in the foot region, and in which there are inserted, in the region of the corners of the baking oven door or of the muffle frame, quadrant-shaped holding elements with a central web-shaped projection for mounting in corresponding openings of the door or of the muffle frame, it is envisaged according to the invention, for easier mounting and more secure holding, that there is provided from the internally situated narrow side of the hollow chamber 1 in the sealing profile, an open slit which extends over the entire length and is inclined downwards, there being inserted into the hollow chamber and the slit the quadrant-shaped holding elements which in the region of their radially internally situated half are bent by approximately 45 DEG together with the web-shaped projection (Fig. 5).
