The invention relates to metal shelves configured to equip merchandise display devices, as well as such devices, especially gondolas, intended to be arranged in retail stores, for example supermarkets.

Technological background

It is known from the European patent application EP 2 073 668 metal shelves configured to equip display devices for merchandise articles, especially gondolas intended to be arranged in retail stores.

These shelves include a flat metal top panel and have side ends that fold down from the flat part of the top panel, side gusset pieces arranged under the top panel against the folded side ends of this panel, as well as reinforcement pieces Longitudinal sections also arranged below the top panel and extending between two lateral reinforcement pieces from one of the lateral ends towards the other of the lateral ends. The longitudinal reinforcement pieces are each fixed on two lateral reinforcement pieces, which in turn are fixed to the folded side ends of the top panel.

Other metal shelves are also known from the European patent application EP 2 641 506 which are also configured to equip display devices for merchandise articles, especially gondolas intended to be arranged in retail stores.

Document EP 0087696 A2 discloses a shelf comprising a shelf panel and at least one flange comprising a first part that extends downwardly from the panel, and a second part folded inwardly so that it extends towards the face. bottom of the shelf panel, generally parallel to and separated from the first part, and a reinforcing element located between said first and second parts and extending upward in the direction of the lower face of the shelf panel and in coupling with this.

These shelves have an upper panel formed, for example, by two metal sheets between which a reinforcing plate is interposed and glued, in a wavy or hexagonal shape.

Object of the invention

The invention proposes to provide a metal shelf configured to equip a device for presenting articles of merchandise of a type similar to those described above, which is particularly robust as well as simple, inexpensive and convenient both for use and for manufacturing.

Therefore, the invention has for its object, in a first aspect, a metal shelf constructed according to claim 1.

The arrangement of the shelf according to the invention, and in particular the formation of the first and second lateral folds, makes it possible to provide the shelf with very good resistance to the contact points formed by its first and second sides, through which the shelf is mounted. on the device.

This resistance to the contact points is further improved by the formation of the block that comes to block the shelf in position in the merchandise presentation device, at the level of these contact points.

Furthermore, the arrangement of the plug in the first and second lateral folds respectively of the first and second sides of the shelf, and in particular the fact that it is turned towards the inside of the shelf, is particularly convenient and economical. Indeed, the location of this plug is safe because it cannot be accidentally hooked from the outside of the shelf, and allows increased compactness of the shelf because this plug does not protrude out of the shelf.

According to preferred, simple, comfortable and economical characteristics of the shelf according to the invention:

- the first side has a first external side wall extending from the top panel and provided with a first vertical external portion, a first internal side wall provided with a first vertical internal portion that extends from the first vertical external portion and is folded on the latter, the first vertical internal portion being prolonged by a second transverse internal portion extending into the interior of the shelf supported against the interior surface of its upper panel; and / or the second side has a second external side wall extending from the top panel and provided with a first vertical external portion, and a second internal side wall provided with a first vertical internal portion extending from the first external portion. vertical and se it folds over the latter, the first vertical internal portion being extended by a second transverse internal portion extending towards the interior of the shelf supported against the interior surface of its upper panel;

According to the preferred, simple, comfortable and economical characteristics of the device according to the invention, it also includes at least one console configured to be fixed on at least one of the vertical posts, the console presenting a vertical slot that opens on an upper mounting edge. and configured to receive the said locking plug so as to lock the shelf in position on the console and to hold the shelf in front of the respective vertical upright.

Detailed description of realization examples

Figure 1 illustrates a merchandise item display device 1, in particular a gondola, for example, intended to be arranged in a retail store, for example a supermarket.

This device 1 includes here a base 2, two vertical uprights 3 extending from the base 2, a bottom panel 4 interposed between the two vertical uprights 3, as well as a plurality of shelves 5, or shelves, hooked in cantilever on the uprights 3 vertical, on each side of the bottom panel 4, and extending in front of the base 2.

The base 2 is here provided with four feet, the height of which is, for example, adjustable, two side panels 7, a front panel 8 that connects the two side panels 7, a rear panel (not shown) that also connects the two panels 7 sides to the other side of the front panel 8, and a top panel 9 having a partially folded front edge 10 in front of the front panel 8.

Each of the uprights 3 here extends vertically from the upper panel 9 of the base 2, substantially at the level of the middle of the depth of this upper panel 9, which depth is defined between the front panel 8 and the rear panel from the base 2, up to a free end 11.

Each of these uprights 3 here has a rectangular section and has a front face 12 provided with a plurality of openings 13, a rear face 16 opposite the front face 12 and also provided with a plurality of openings (not shown), similar to the openings 13, an internal face 15 that joins the front face 12 and the rear face 16 and provided with a plurality of notches (not represented) configured to allow the mounting of the bottom panel 4, with the help of hooks (not represented) in each of these uprights 3, as well as an external face 14 opposite to the internal face 15 and which also joins the front face 12 and the rear face 16.

Here, the outer face 14 is compact in the sense that it is devoid of notches, but in the variant, the outer face of at least one upright could include notches similar to those of the inner face for mounting another mounted bottom panel. on a base that, for example, would only be provided with a vertical upright.

It is especially possible, thanks to the above-described arrangement of the gondola 1, in the gondola illustrated in Figure 1, to have shelves 5 on each side of the bottom panel 4.

In the variant, the uprights could extend from one end of the upper panel of the base and the shelves would only be mounted on the front face of these uprights and therefore arranged only on one side of the bottom panel.

Each shelf 5 visible in Figure 1 extends here in a general longitudinal direction, from one to the other of the uprights 3, and has a depth in the transverse direction of the shelf 5.

Each shelf 5 is here provided with a top panel 20 which forms a display surface for the merchandise items, hereinafter referred to as outer surface 30, a first side 24 extending transversely from the top panel 20 and into the depth of the shelf 5 , a second side 25 opposite the first side 24 and also extending transversely from the top panel 20 and in the depth of the shelf 5, substantially parallel to the first side 24, of a front face 23 that extends transversely from the panel 20 upper and in the length of the shelf 5, and of a rear face 26, opposite to the front face 23, also extending transversely from the upper panel 20 and in the length of the shelf 5.

The shelf 5 is here mechanically fastened to one of the uprights 3, at the level of its first side 24, by a console 21 and, to the other of the uprights 3, at the level of its two sides 25, by a console 22.

Figures 2 to 5 show one of the shelves 5, taken in isolation, according to different orientations and according to different viewing angles.

In Figures 2 and 4, the shelf 5 is arranged according to a so-called use orientation, where its outer surface 30 is directed upwards; while in Figures 3 and 5, the shelf 5 is rotated and its upper surface is directed downwards and is not visible. In contrast, in Figures 3 and 5, it is an inner surface 31 of the top panel 20, opposite to its outer surface 30, which is visible.

The shelf 5 here includes several reinforcing pieces, hereinafter referred to as stringers 35 that are mechanically attached to the upper panel 20 by its inner surface 31, directly or indirectly, and that extend substantially longitudinally from the first side 24 to the second side. 25 from shelf 5.

The stringers 35, here three, are distributed over the depth of the shelf 5 between the front face 23 and the rear face 26 of the latter and each substantially has a general shape called omega (see more in detail below).

In the variant, the shelf can include only one or two stringers or even more than three stringers 35.

The shelf 5 further includes locking members, hereinafter called dowels 33, here two, which are arranged respectively on the first and second sides 24 and 25.

These studs 33 are here arranged closer to the front face 23 than to the rear face 26 and are configured to cooperate with the consoles 21 and 22 to lock the shelf 5 in position on the latter (see more in detail below).

Here, the front face 23 of the shelf 5 joins the first side 24 and the second side 25 at the same time at two opposite ends of the front face 23 (see more in detail below); while the rear face 26 extends between two free ends that are in immediate proximity, but do not join, the first side 24 and the second side 25, so that they form a space 36 that allows the passage of one of the respective consoles 21 and 22 configured to allow the mounting of the shelf 5 on the respective upright 3 (see more in detail below).

This arrangement here makes it possible to close the corners called A and B of the shelf 5 and leave the corners called C and D of the shelf at least partially open; noting that the closed corner A is located at the junction between the front face 23 and the first side 24, the closed corner B is located at the junction between the front face 23 and the second side 25, the open corner C is located flush of the rear face 26 and the first side 24, while the corner D is located at the level of the rear face 26 and the second side 25.

The shelf 5 further includes, at each of the joints between the front face 23 and the first and second sides 24 and 25, a locking mechanism 34 configured to ensure the closure of the respective corners A and B.

It should be noted that the top panel 20, the first and second sides 24 and 25, the front and rear faces 23 and 26, the studs 32 and the locking mechanisms 34 are formed in a single and same metallic sheet having a thickness comprised, for example, between about 0.4mm and about 1mm. It will also be noted that the stringers 35 in the so-called omega shape are also formed from one and the same metal foil having a thickness of, for example, between about 0.2mm and about 1mm.

Figures 6 to 8 show in more detail the front face 23, the rear face 26, one of the beams 35, the first side 24 and the second side, seen in section, but also one of the holes 32, the studs 33, and the locking mechanisms 34.

In particular, as illustrated in Figure 6, the front face 23 presents an external front wall 40, which extends from the upper panel 20 and which is provided with a first vertical external portion 41 extended by a second transverse external portion 42 , the latter extending towards the interior of the shelf 5; as well as an internal front wall 43 provided with a first transverse internal portion 44 that extends from the second transverse external portion 42 and folds over the latter, the first transverse internal portion 44 being prolonged by a vertical second internal portion 45 supported against the first vertical external portion 41, the second vertical internal portion 45 being prolonged by a third transverse portion 46 extending into the interior of the shelf 5 supported against the interior surface 31 of its upper panel 20.

In other words, the inner front wall 43 folds at least over the outer front wall 41 so that the front face 23 is formed by a front fold.

The rear face 26 has an external rear wall 50, which extends from the upper panel 20 and which is provided with a first vertical external portion 51 extended by a second transverse external portion 52, the latter extending towards the interior of the shelf 5; as well as an internal rear wall 53 provided with a first transverse internal portion 54 that extends from the second transverse external portion 52 and folds over the latter, the first transverse internal portion 54 being prolonged by a vertical second internal portion 55 supported against the first vertical external portion 51, the second vertical internal portion 55 being extended by a third transverse portion 56 extending into the interior of the shelf 5 abutting the interior surface 31 of its upper panel 20.

In other words, the inner rear wall 53 folds at least over the outer front wall 51 so that the rear face 26 is formed by a rear fold.

Stringer 35 here generally includes a transversely extending bottom wall 47, in section, two jambs 48 extending vertically and substantially parallel from opposite ends of bottom wall 47, as well as two flanges 49 of supports which also extend transversely, in section, respectively from the jambs 48, to the other side of the bottom wall 47.

The two support tabs 49 are mechanically attached to the top panel 20 by its inner surface 31, directly or indirectly.

The mechanical clamping of the support flanges 49 of the stringer 35 can be carried out by gluing, for example, with interposition of separation microspheres between the support flanges 49 and the inner surface 31, or by welding, especially laser welding. Such a laser welding can be implemented with a machine that has, for example, a support bracket for the engagement of the support flanges on the upper panel, as well as a control and command unit configured to define the parameters of the machine. with a predetermined power, preferably of a relatively low value, and with a predetermined focusing distance.

The beam can have a height, between its support flanges and its bottom wall, of between approximately 10 mm and approximately 25 mm. Therefore, the shelf can have a total height between approximately 10.4 mm and approximately 26 mm, while having a particularly effective weight-height ratio, as well as a predetermined mechanical inertia modulus based especially on the French standard. As is also illustrated in Figure 6, the hole 32 formed on the first side 24 is located between the front face 23 and the stringer 35 immediately after this front face 23, the plug 33 arranged on this first side 24 is located immediately after this same beam 35, and the locking mechanism 34 at corner A is generally formed by a locking flange 57 coming from the first side 24 and is folded over a first end portion 58 of the front face 23 which is folds and arranges against this first side 24.

In other words, the second inner side wall 62 folds at least over the second outer side wall 60 so that the second side 25 is formed by a second side pleat.

As is also illustrated in Figure 7, the locking mechanism 34 at the corner B is also generally formed by a locking flange 67 coming from the second side 25 and folded over a second end portion 68 of the front face 23 which is folded and arranged against this second side 25.

As illustrated in Figure 8, the first side 24 presents a first external side wall 70, which extends from the top panel 20 and is provided with a first vertical external portion 71, as well as a first internal side wall 72 provided of a first vertical internal portion 73 extending from the first vertical external portion 71 and therefore folded and supported on the latter, the first vertical internal portion 73 being prolonged by a second transverse internal portion 74 extending towards the interior of the shelf 5 resting against the inner surface 31 of its upper panel 20.

In other words, the first inner side wall 72 folds over at least the first outer side wall 70 so that the first side 24 is formed by a first side crease.

Figure 8 also shows an internal passage (not referenced between the first side 24 and a free end 37 of the beam 35 visible in this Figure 8, a passage that opens in the space 36 formed between this first side and the rear face 26. This step here is configured to at least partially receive the console 21.

The beams 35 visible at least partially in Figures 2 to 8 will now be described in more detail with reference to Figures 9 and 10, the beams 35 of which are here identical.

The support flanges 49 of each beam 35 are located opposite each other and here present a first support portion 75, as well as a second support portion 76 extending from the first support portion 75 and therefore folded and supported on the latter.

Thus, each abutment flange 49 is formed by a fold.

The second support portion 76 is here shorter than the first support portion 75 so that the latter has a free end 78 directed in the illustrated example towards an internal space 77 of the beam 35.

The jambs 48 of each stringer 35 are located opposite each other and here are formed by a vertical right portion 79 extending from the second bearing portion 76, substantially on the side or even below the free end 78 of the first portion 75 support.

The bottom wall 47 of each beam 35 here extends substantially opposite the free ends 78 of the support flanges 76 and at least partially closes the internal space 77 of the beam 35.

This bottom wall 47 has a first bottom portion 80 extending transversely, in section, from the vertical right portion 79 of one of the jambs 48, a second bottom portion 81 extending from the first bottom portion 80 and therefore folded and supported on the latter. The first and second bottom portions 80 and 81 are of substantially the same length so that the second bottom portion 81 here extends substantially to the vertical right portion 79 of the jamb 48 from which the first bottom portion 80 extends.

The bottom wall further has a third bottom portion 82 which extends transversely from the second bottom portion 81 and is therefore folded and supported on the latter. The third bottom portion 82 is here more than twice as long as the first and second bottom portions 80 and 81, so that it extends substantially below the vertical right portion 79 of the other of the jambs 48.

The bottom wall furthermore has a fourth bottom portion 83 which extends from the third bottom portion 82 and is therefore folded and supported on the latter. The fourth bottom portion 83 here has a length substantially equal to that of the second bottom portion 81 and is directed towards the latter, without joining it.

The bottom wall further has a fifth bottom portion 84 which extends from the fourth bottom portion 83 and is therefore folded and supported on the latter. The fifth bottom portion 84 here has a length substantially equal to that of the fourth bottom portion 83 and extends to join the vertical right portion 79 of the other of the jambs 48.

In the example illustrated here, the bottom wall 47 is thus formed by the juxtaposition of three overlapping folds separated by a central space 85. The stringer 35 is mechanically held under the shelf 5, by the first bearing portions 75 of its bearing flanges 49 which are positioned against the inner surface 31, and by the extensions 86 arranged in the extension of the second bearing portion 76 of the its abutment flanges 49 which are positioned against the second transverse inner portion 74 of the first inner side wall 72 of the first side 24, which second transverse inner portion 74 is positioned itself against the inner surface 31.

It should be noted that the front fold of the front face 23 and in particular the third transverse portion 46 of its inner front wall 43, the rear fold of the rear face 26 and in particular the third transverse portion 56 of its inner rear wall 53, the second lateral fold of the second side 25 and in particular the second internal transverse portion 64 of its second internal side wall 62, as well as the first lateral fold of the first side 24 and in particular the second transverse internal portion 74 of its first internal side wall 72 , are here each mechanically fastened to the inner surface 31 according to a procedure similar to that used for the mechanical fastening of the beams 35, that is to say, for example, by gluing or laser welding.

The stringer 35 illustrated in Figures 11-13 is the closest stringer of the rear face 26. Therefore, the stringer 35 has a bearing flange 49 directed towards the third transverse portion 56 of the inner rear wall 53 of the rear face 26, as well as the vertical right portion 79 of a jamb 48 partially facing the second inner portion 55 vertical of the inner rear wall 53.

The console 21 on which the shelf 5 is mounted on its first side 24, includes a mounting portion 96 intended to cooperate with a respective upright 3, and extended by a supporting portion 97 intended to mainly hold the shelf 5 by its first side 24.

The mounting portion 96 is formed by a so-called mounting fold and has an upper mounting edge 98, a lower mounting edge 99 which is opposite the upper mounting edge 98 and which is provided with a curved portion and a right portion, as well as a plurality of hooks 100 arranged on a free edge joining the upper mounting edge 98 and the right portion of the lower mounting edge 99.

Between each pair of successive hooks 100 a space 101 is formed provided to receive a portion of the front face 12 of the respective upright 3 when these hooks are inserted into the openings 13 arranged in this front face 12.

A stop 102 is formed on the free edge of the mounting portion 96 and is located here between the right portion of the lower mounting edge 99 and the hook 100 closest to the latter. This stop 102 is provided to come into contact with the front face 12 of the respective upright 3.

The holding portion 97, for its part, is not formed by a fold.

The support portion 97 has an upper support edge 103 that partially extends the upper mounting edge 98 to the other side of the hooks 100.
