Abstract

Apparatus for applying liquids of different consistencies, in particular moisture-curing primers or solvent-containing paints, in the form of a striplike liquid layer to a surface, comprising an applicator head which has a body (1) of porous material and which is suppliable with the liquid to be applied and one end-surface of which is the discharge and application surface (3) for the liquid, characterized in that the body (1) consists of a felt or web material which is made of synthetic fibres and the air permeability of which is 1.1 to 2.5 litre . cm**-2 . min**-1 , preferably 1.4 to 2.2 litre . cm**-2 . min**-1 , and in that the surface or surfaces adjoining the discharge and application surface (3) is or are covered with a liquid-tight layer (2).
