A process for preparing a miticidal agent in the form of an emulsion concentrate or a wettable powder, comprising mixing as active miticidal ingredient, a 1,1-bis (halophenyl) -2,2,2-trichloroethanol and emulsifying agents, characterized by the fact that said active miticidal ingredient is dissolved in at least one alkyl oleate in which the alkyl group contains one or two carbon atoms, and which has a solidification point not exceeding about 16º C and said emulsifying agents they consist of an adduct of ethylene oxide surfactant having from 15 to 100 ether units and a surfactant and oil soluble salt of alkylanesulfonic acid or alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid, in which the alkyl group or groups contain from 8 to 18 carbon atoms, varying the ratio of said ethylene oxide adduct to said salt of the alkylanesulfonic acid or alkylnaphthalenesulfonic acid from about 3: 1 to 1: 1 by weight, and add to mixing at least one finely divided inert solid carrier if it is desired to obtain the miticidal agent in the form of a wettable powder.
