Abstract

Pieza de cera para registro de la oclusión dental, que constituyendo un bloque de cera destinado a servir como medio de registro de las caras oclusales de las piezas dentarias posteriores, tanto de la arcada dental superior como de la arcada dental inferior, para su utilización en ortodoncia y prótesis, esencialmente se caracteriza porque la pieza de cera en cuestión adopta una configuración que puede considerarse como de configuración en "V" sensiblemente abierta y vértice acusadamente redondeado, definiéndose en éste un sector anterior destinado a apoyarse en la cara lingual de la arcada dental y de la encía del maxilar inferior, mientras que del borde externo de las ramas laterales que conforman la considerada configuración en "V" de la pieza o bloque emergen, de forma aproximadamente perpendicular a tales ramas, sendas alas o prolongaciones de considerable grosor que por una de sus caras definen un sector oclusal en el que, previa mordedura por el paciente, quedará registrada la oclusión correspondiente al maxilar inferior, en tanto que la cara opuesta de cada una de dichas alas o prolongaciones define asimismo un sector oclusal en el que quedará registrada, tras la mordedura, la oclusión correspondiente al maxilar superior.
