Abstract
A reactor for treating a high-temperature process fluid stream in the presence of solid particles and having means to cool the stream prior to its output, which consists of a confined shell having an upper fluid inlet and an outlet lower fluid, an insulating liner adjacent the inner wall of said envelope, a perforated lower member mounted within the lower section of said envelope above said fluid outlet, a second perforated member separated from and positioned above said member firstly mentioned perforated, a cooling fluid dispensing means placed between said perforated members and a cooling fluid supply conduit connected to said fluid distributing member, whereby a cooling fluid can be intermixed with the fluid passing through said fluid outlet .
