Abstract

A self-supporting terminal element (1) for making a solderless, screwless connection to an insulated conductor comprises a strip of metal having a Z section to form contact member (2) having an insulation piercing portion (4) offset at an angle of about 45 DEG from the axis of an insulated conductor received in the terminal element as well as of two clamping arms (3) having slots receiving the conductor mounting pins (4) being provided in the lower portion of the terminal element (1) thus, the terminal element (1) is stiffened and is adapted for use on extremely restricted space, e.g. on printed circuit boards (6).
