Abstract

Un método de preparar una composición que tiene la fórmula **(Fórmula)** donde X es un grupo alcohilo con por lo menos 3 átomos de carbono e Y es un grupo alcohilo con por lo menos un átomo de carbono, fluctuando de 4 a 37 la suma de los átomos de carbono de X e Y, y n es un número medio que fluctúa de 2 a 25, consistiendo dicho método en las operaciones de tratar un fenol alcohilado con óxido de etileno, estando presentes las cantidades de cada uno de acuerdo con la fórmula anterior, en presencia de aproximadamente 10 a aproximadamente 80 moles % de un catalizador del grupo consistente en los metales alcalino y sus hidróxidos, carbonatos y alcoholatos, a temperaturas entre unos 120 y unos 200ºC.
