Rigidizadores de material compuesto para vehiculos aeroespaciales Antecedentes
Los largueros realizan varias funciones en una aeronave. Estas funciones incluyen transferir cargas de flexion en paneles de revestimiento, y rigidizar los paneles de revestimiento de modo que los paneles no se pandeen bajo carga.
Los largueros y paneles de revestimiento pueden componerse de materiales compuestos de flbra tales como plastico reforzado con fibra de carbono (CFRP). Se va a usar CFRP en lugar de metal, especialmente en aplicaciones en las que se desean un peso relativamente bajo y una alta resistencia mecanica. El CFRP proporciona una mejora significativa en la resistencia especlfica y la rigidez con respecto a las aleaciones metalicas convencionales. Mejor resistencia especifica y rigidez se traduce en ahorros de peso, lo que se traduce en ahorros de combustible y menores costes operativos.
Un larguero de material compuesto se fabrica a partir de multiples capas de fibras de refuerzo. Flay un criterio para la definicion de diserio para la fabrication de un material laminado compuesto que especifica la orientation de capas individuales que usa cuatro ejes tradicionales: 0/+45/-45/90 grados, donde 0 grados esta alineado normalmente con una direccion de carga primaria. Este criterio tambien se aplica a probetas de prueba, y a la resistencia de material laminado compuesto resultante admisible y a metodos de analisis de optimization de resistencia de la industria.
Algunas capas tienen fibras de refuerzo orientadas a 0 grados con respecto al eje de carga primaria del larguero. Estas fibras transfieren cargas uniaxiales. Otras capas tienen fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±45 grados y 90 grados para transferir cargas de cizalladura, transversales y de apoyo. Cada capa ariade peso a un larguero. Tambien se conoce que un alto % de capas totales en una unica direccion de carga primaria puede hacer que se debilite un larguero en una direccion de carga no primaria, produciendo tal debilitamiento por ejemplo grietas o rajas tempranas en la direccion de carga primaria de larguero. Ese efecto limita la capacidad para aumentar la rigidez de larguero sin ariadir capas.

Description detallada
Se hace referencia a las figuras 1 y 2, las cuales ilustran una aeronave 100 comercial. Los conjuntos principales de la aeronave 100 incluyen un fuselaje 110, conjuntos 120 de ala y un empenaje 130. Una o mas unidades 140 de propulsion se acoplan a los conjuntos 120 de ala, o al fuselaje 110 u otras partes de la aeronave 100.
Los conjuntos 110, 120 y 130 de aeronave principales incluyen paneles 210 de revestimiento y rigidizadores. La funcion de los rigidizadores para Impedir que los conjuntos 110, 120 y 130 principales se pandeen, incluyendo transferir cargas de flexion a los paneles 210 de revestimiento, y rigidizar los paneles 210 de revestimiento de modo que los paneles 210 no se pandeen bajo carga. Los largueros que tienen estas geometrias incluyen todos al menos un alma y una base, Se ilustran ejemplos de las geometrias 410, 420 y 430 de viga en forma de sombrero, eh Z y canal en C en ia figura 4.
El panel 210 de revestimiento, que tiene un grosorTi, se acopla a la base 18. En algunas realizaciones, la base 18 puede unirse de manera adhesiva al panel 210 de revestimiento. En otras realizaciones, la base 18 puede curarse conjuntamente con et panel 210 de revestimiento.

Los elementos de sujecion para fijar los largueros 220 a los paneles 210 de revestimiento no se limitan a pernos 22 y tuercas 24. Otros elementos de sujecion incluyen, pero no se limitan a, grapas, pasadores en Z, remaches, elementos de sujecion de engarce y puas. Otro ejemplo de un elemento de sujecion es el cosido. Pueden coserse entre si capas de fibras. Las puntadas pueden enhebrarse a traves de aberturas en un material laminado de capas de material compuesto secas. Se infunde entonces resina en la estructura, y se cura la estructura.
El panel 210 de revestimiento incluye un apilamiento de capas de fibras de refuerzo incluidas en una matriz. Diferentes capas pueden tener fibras orientadas a 0, +45, -45 y 90. Algunas realizaciones pueden tener un material laminado casi isotrbpico, mediante lo cual se usan cantidades y porcentajes iguales de capas de 0, +45, -45, y 90 grados. En otras realizaciones, las diferentes capas podrian incluir fibras de refuerzo orientadas a 10, -55, +100 y -35 grados, o algunos otros angulos o combinaciones. Las fibras de refuerzo en los paneles 210 de revestimiento pueden ser fibras de carbono que tienen un modulo intermedio de 40 MSI. Se hace referenda ahora a la figura 5a, la cual ilustra un apilamiento 500 de capas 500a-500d de un alma 14, una base 16 o un cabecero de un larguero 220. El apilamiento 500 ilustrado en la figura 5a incluye capas 500a y 500b primera y segunda que tienen fibras orientadas a +a grados y -a grados con respecto al eje X. Estas fibras orientadas a +a proporcionan resistencia en tension y compresion a lo largo del eje X.
La disposicion de capas incluye ademas capas 500c y 500d tercera y cuarta que tienen fibras orientadas a +p grados y -(1 grados, en la que p es de entre 50 y 85 grados (por ejemplo, ±50, +60, ±70, ±80). En algunas realizaciones, el intervalo para p sera mas estrecho, entre 50 y 75 grados. Las fibras orientadas a ±p grados incrementan la resistencia a la cizalladura, transversal y la capacidad de carga. Por ejemplo, pueden ariadirse fibras orientadas a ±p grados para incrementar la capacidad de carga en areas en las que se usan elementos de sujecion para realizar una union de sujecion o reparar una union. Puesto que son necesarias unas pocas capas ±p para lograr la misma resistencia transversal y capacidad de carga (es decir, en relacion con fibras orientadas a 90 grados, +45 grados y -45 grados), la estructura resultante es mas utilizable, adaptable, eficiente y ligera.
La orientacion selectiva de fibras permite que se ajuste cualquiera de seis caracterfsticas: resistencia en cizalladura, rigidez en cizalladura, resistencia transversal, rigidez transversal, capacidad de carga y rigidez de apoyo. Si se desea mayor resistencia en cizalladura, se seleccionara una p que se aproxime a 50 grados. Si se desea mayor resistencia transversal, se seleccionara una p que se aproxime a 85 grados. En algunas realizaciones, pueden intercalarse capas de las fibras orientadas a ±p grados con capas de las fibras orientadas a ±a grados. Considerese un ejemplo de capas unidireccionales que se intercalan. Las capas pueden tener el siguiente orden: +a /«/+(? /+a /-a/-p/+a Las capas intercaladas pueden usarse en el alma 14, el
cabecero 16 y 18. Sin embargo, en otras realizaciones, las capas de fibras p en el alma 14 se desvian hacia las superficies exteriores dei alma.
Se hace referenda a la figura 6, que ilustra un alma 14 que tiene capas de fibras p desviadas alejandose del piano 14a medio y desviadas hacia las superficies 14b exteriores. Es decir, la densidad de capas de fibras p aumenta hacia las superficies 14b exteriores en la direccion Zw. Por ejemplo, capas de fibras a forman un nucleo del alma 14, y capas de fibras p forman las superficies 14b exteriores del alma 14. El desvio de las capas de fibras p hacia las superficies 14b exteriores aumenta la rigidez al pandeo y la flexion transversal.
Aunque la figura 5a ilustra solamente cuatro capas 500a-500d de fibras de refuerzo, un larguero 220 no esta asi limitado. Pueden proporcionarse capas adicionales de fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±a grados para aumentar la resistencia en tension y compresion a lo largo del eje L Pueden proporcionarse capas adicionales de fibras de refuerzo orientadas a otros angulos (denominados mas adelante +p) para aumentar al menos una de la rigidez y/o resistencia a la cizalladura, transversal y la capacidad de carga.
Pueden agruparse diferentes disposiciones entre si. Por ejemplo, un larguero puede incluir una pluralidad de grupos de fibras. Las capas en cada grupo corresponden a una disposicion de fibras en diferentes orientaciones. Los grupos pueden emplearse en cualquier combinacion deseada y pueden repetirse a cualquier grado deseado,
Preferiblemente, al menos el 50% de las capas en el apilamiento tendran fibras orientadas a ±a grados. Sin embargo, en algunas realizaciones de largueros, el 100% de las fibras se orientaran a ±« grados.
La figura 5b ilustra una realizacion de un larguero que tiene capas de fibras orientadas solamente a ±a con respecto al eje X. En la figura 5b, se ilustra un apilamiento 500 que tiene cuatro capas 550a-550d.
En los apilamientos 500 y 550, las fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±a grados proporcionan resistencia en tension y compresion a lo largo del eje X. Las fibras de refuerzo orientadas a 0 grados con respecto al eje X proporcionaran una resistencia maxima a lo largo del eje X. las fibras de refuerzo orientadas a un angulo a de entre 2 y 12 grados con respecto al eje X no proporcionaran una resistencia maxima, pero suprimiran o retrasaran la separacion de capas cuando el larguero 220 se carga de manera uniaxial a lo largo del eje X (por ejemplo, cuando el larguero se pone en compresion uniaxial).
Las aberturas de elemento de sujecion pueden ser perpendiculares a las capas y extenderse a traves de las capas que compone la base 18. Las fibras orientadas a a de entre 2 y 12 grados pueden suprimir o retrasar la separacion de capas que se produciria si no por estas aberturas que se extienden a traves de la base 18. La separacion de una capa se suprimira o retrasara en un factor de 10 a 100 veces en relacion con un material laminado que tiene una mayoria de fibras orientadas a a =0 grados. El incremento de la resistencia a la separacion en de 1 a 3 ordenes de magnitud hacen que tales materiales laminados sean mucho mas practicos.
Se hace referencia ahora a las figuras 7a y 7b, que ilustran como se suprime o retrasa la separacion de capas. La figura 7a ilustra una unica capa 710 que tiene seis fibras 712 a 717 incluidas en una matriz 720. Las fibras 712 a 717 estan orientadas a 0 grados con respecto al eje X. Las fibras 714 y 715 se cortan perforando un orificio 730. Cuando se aplica una carga de tension T a lo largo del eje X, las fibras 712, 713, 716 y 717 sin cortar soportan la carga y se estiran. Las fibras 714 y 715 cortadas no soportan la carga, no se estiran, y se cizallan alejandose de la matriz 720. Esto debilita a su vez la resina entre una fibra 714 cortada y una fibra 713 sin cortar. Se forma una grieta 740 fina (representada por la linea discontinua) en la matriz 720 entre las fibras 714 y 713 cortada y sin cortar. Esta grieta 740 puede propagarse a io largo de toda la longitud de la capa 710. La grieta 740 puede producirse si una estructura tiene una capa, cinco capas, decenas de capas, o mas. La grieta 740 degrada gravemente la resistencia del larguero.
La figura 7b ilustra una capa 750 de fibras 752a a 756a orientadas a -« grados con respecto al eje X, y fibras 752b a 756b orientadas a +a grados con respecto al eje X, donde a es de entre 2 y 12 grados. La capa 750 puede incluir una unica capa que tiene fibras 752a a 756a y 752b a 756b o dos capas unidireccionales (una capa unidireccional que tiene fibras 752a a 756a y otra capa unidireccional que tiene fibras 752b a 756b). Si las fibras 754a, 756a, 754b y 756b se cortan mediante un orificio 770, se formara una pequeria grieta 780 en la capa 750. Sin embargo, la grieta 780 no crecera de manera descontrolada. En cambio, el crecimiento de la grieta 780 se ralentizara y se detendra de inmediato, mediante lo cual se mantendra la resistencia del larguero. Ademas, debido a la orientacion de fibras de a

de entre 2 y 12 grados, sera necesario una carga cada vez mayor para propagar la grieta 780 (se ha mostrado que las fibras en angulo hacen que difunda la energla en el extremo de grieta). Por tanto, se suprime o retrasa la separacion de capas.
Un angulo a en el intervalo de 2 a 8 grados proporciona una buena combinacion de resistencia y supresion de separacion. Para angulos inferiores a 2 grados, la separacion de capas aumenta rapidamente. Para angulos u que superan los 8 grados, la resistencia axial disminuye rapidamente. Sin embargo, para algunas aplicaciones, angulos hasta 12 grados proporcionaran una resistencia aceptable.
En algunas realizaciones, un angulo u en el intervalo de 3 a 5 grados proporciona una mejor combinacion de resistencia y supresion/retraso de separacion, y tambien proporciona un margen de error frente a la disminucion de resistencia que puede producirse por debajo de a = 2 grados y por encima de a = 8 grados (si el control de fibra es insuficiente durante la fabrication, algunas fibras podrlan orientarse a angulos menores de 2 grados o mayores de 8 grados). Se ha encontrado que un angulo a de 3 grados proporciona una combinacion incluso mejor, ya que proporciona de un 1 a un 2% mas resistencia en compresion.
Las fibras pueden estar equilibradas o desequilibradas ligeramente. Como ejemplo de fibras equilibradas, un larguero tiene N capas de fibras a +a intercaladas con N capas de fibras a -a. Como ejemplo de fibras desequilibradas ligeramente, un larguero puede tener N capas de fibras a +a intercaladas con N-1 capas de fibras a -a grados,
En algunas realizaciones, todas las capas pueden tener el mismo valor de +a y el mismo valor de -a. En otras realizaciones, las capas pueden tener diferentes valores de a. Por ejemplo, pueden laminarse capas de fibras de refuerzo que tienen orientaciones de a = 3 grados y a = 5 grados.
En algunas realizaciones, una capa puede tener fibras a diferentes angulos. Por ejemplo, una capa puede incluir fibras orientadas a angulos de -3 grados, +7 grados, -7 grados y +2 grados. En algunas realizaciones, una capa puede tener fibras orientadas a angulos de tanto +a como de - a grados.
El valor optimo de a sera habitualmente funcion de varios factores. Estos factores incluyen, pero no se limitan a, la fibra, la matriz, la fuerza de union interfacial entre una fibra y la matriz, la densidad de fibra, la longitud de fibra, etc. Estos factores tambien incluyen la capacidad para controlar la orientation de fibras.
Esta optimization se llevaba a cabo tradicionalmente con limites sobre el % maximo de capas uniaxiales en la direction de carga primaria normalmente del 50-60% para impedir la separacion de capas.
Este nuevo metodo que usa orientacion de capas distinta de cero hace posible la supresion de la separacion de capas intrinseca con una pequeria reduction de la rigtdez maxima, pero sin limitar adicionalmente el equilibrio entre resistencia a la cizalladura y la axial. Esto permite que capas de cizalladura reducida hasta sean materiales laminados uniaxiales al 100% utiles. Se requieren pruebas para definir los limites permisibles unicos que han de aplicarse a cualquier analisis de optimizacion especifico,
Se han descrito anteriormente rigidizadores de material compuesto en relation con una aeronave. Sin embargo, los rigidizadores de material compuesto no estan limitados asi en el presente documento. Los rigidizadores de material compuesto en el presente documento pueden proporcionar rigidez a estructuras de helicopteros, naves espaciales y otros vehiculos aeroespaciales. Los rigidizadores de material compuesto en el presente documento no se limitan ni siquiera a vehiculos aeroespaciales. Pueden usarse en cualquier estructura ligera que requiera rigidizacion.

Claims (10)
- 51015202530351. Vehiculo aeroespacial que comprende una pluralidad de rigidizadores de material compuesto, teniendo cada rigidizador de la pluralidad un apilamiento de capas de fibras de refuerzo; teniendo al menos alguna de las capas en el apilamiento fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±u con respecto a un eje de carga primaria, en el que u es de entre 2 y 12 grados; teniendo al menos algunas de las capas fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±0 con respecto al eje de carga primaria, en el que 0 es de entre 50 y 85 grados, en el que los rigidizadores incluyen almas, y en el que las fibras orientadas a ±0 se desvian hacia superficies exteriores de las almas para aumentar la rigidez en pandeo y flexion transversal, en el que las fibras 0 estan dispuestas en capas desviadas alejandose de un piano (14a) medio hacia las superficies (14b) exteriores del alma (14).
- 2. Vehiculo segun la reivindicacion 1. que comprende ademas una pluralidad de paneles (210) de revestimiento rigidizados por los rigidizadores, en el que los rigidizadores incluyen bases sujetas a los paneles (210) de revestimiento mediante elementos de sujecion, mediante lo cual las fibras orientadas a ±cx suprimen o retrasan la separation de capas en las bases.
- 3. Vehiculo segun las reivindicaciones 1 6 2, en el que a es de entre 2 y 8 grados.
- 4. Vehiculo segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1-3, en el que u es de entre 3 y 5 grados.
- 5. Vehiculo segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1-4, en el que las fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±a constituyen al menos el 50% del numero total de fibras en cada rigidizador.
- 6. Vehiculo segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1-5, en el que los paneles (210) de revestimiento y los rigidizadores incluyen fibras de carbono en una matriz polimerica.
- 7. Vehiculo segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1-6, en el que el vehiculo incluye a fuselaje (110), conjuntos (120) de ala y empenaje (130); y en el que se incluye la pluralidad de rigidizadores en al menos uno del fuselaje, los conjuntos de ala y el empenaje.
- 8. Vehiculo segun cualquiera de las reivindicaciones 1-7 en el que todas las fibras en el apilamiento consisten en las fibras orientadas a ±« y ±0; y en el que el 20-30% de las fibras totales estan orientadas a ±0 para alcanzar niveles de capacidad de carga similares a materiales laminados duros a 0/+45/-45/90 tradicionales.
- 9. Vehiculo segim cualquiera de las reivindicaciones anteriores, en el que cada rigidizador incluye un alma (14) entre un primer cordon (16) y un segundo cordon o base (18) y que comprende ademas aberturas de sujecion dispuestas en perpendicular a las capas, aberturas que se extienden a traves de las capas que componen la base (18).
- 10. Rigidizador de vehiculo aeroespacial que incluye una base y un alma, alma que incluye capas de fibras de refuerzo para proporcionar resistencia en tension y compresion a lo largo de un eje de carga primaria, incluyendo tambien el alma capas de fibras de refuerzo orientadas a ±0 grados con respecto al eje de carga primaria, en el que 0 es de entre 50 y 85 grados, y en el que las fibras orientadas a +0 grados se desvian hacia superficies exteriores del alma para aumentar la rigidez en pandeo y carga transversal, en el que las capas de fibras 0 estan desviadas alejandose de un piano (14a) medio hacia las superficies (14b) exteriores del alma (14).TIG. 1
