Abstract

Method of manufacturing a dry electrolytic capacitor, in which a tantalum or niobium metal electrode is applied by anodic oxidation to a dielectric oxide layer, the electrode is subsequently impregnated in a solution or suspension of a compound that is converted by pyrolysis in a semiconductor oxidic compound and the impregnated electrode is then heated so that a layer of a semiconductor oxide material is formed on the dielectric oxide layer, after which the electrode is post-formed and then surrounded by a layer of conductive material , characterized in that the anodic oxidation is carried out in two stages, one of which is carried out in an electrolyte which is liquid at room temperature, at a temperature of approximately 150º C and the other in a melt of a salt of an acid containing oxygen at a temperature of about 250º C, the two steps being carried out at approximately the same tension and at least for a time such that the formation current becomes constant at the final forming voltage and that the post-formation in a liquid electrolyte preferably takes place at room temperature.
