Un procedimiento de producir 7-cloro-6-desmetil-tetraciclina, por fermentación aeróbica de un medio de fermentación acuoso con una cepa de s-Aureofaciens productora de 7-cloro-6-desmetil-tetraciclina, caracterizado por realizar la fermentación en presencia de cobre adicional añadido al medio de fermentación de modo que se aumente la producción de 7-cloro-6-desmetil-tetraciclina en relación con la producción de 6-desmetil-tetraciclina.
