Abstract

Stocking device for elastic stockings

The present invention relates to a device for placing means for elastic stockings, intended to facilitate the operation of placing means, for example, medical means of a therapeutic type.

In the treatment of phlebolinphological diseases, which affect more than a quarter of the population, compression therapy is considered to be so important that international organizations (CEN) have been founded that regulate the matter in the various countries, combining them by the establishment of standardization rules for medical compression by means of a medical and therapeutic elastic average (medical mean).

In the various clinical trials and in the world scientific literature, the therapeutic elastic medium itself has demonstrated a safe efficacy to prevent and treat phlebolymphological diseases: it is a real medical device.

The main problem arising from the use of such a device is the difficulty, for users, of placing and maintaining it, especially during hotter periods, and the natural reluctance of many women in the use of socks that is often defined as "anti- aesthetics ", thus making it difficult to observe the medical prescription.

A recent study on the effect and "compliance" of compression therapy has indicated in approximately 70% of cases that lack of comfort and difficulty in the use of medical socks are the main reasons for noncompliance with medical prescription, while in 53% of the cases the reason is the cost and, in 38% the manufactured one of which they are anti-aesthetic. In most cases of chronic venous insufficiency, therapeutic elastic stockings remain, however, the only effective solution for the treatment of diseases such as ulcers and phlebitis and to slow down the degenerative phenomenon.

The difficulties in placing the therapeutic means are greater when they have to be used by older people, people with reduced mobility or people with limited hand function.

Currently, stocking devices are provided that are cumbersome and difficult to use, since sometimes they need the help of a third person. On the other hand, the patient is forced to put the legs in the elevated position in order to allow the veins to be emptied before using the therapeutic means. An example of a stocking device is disclosed in US 6 536 636.

The device of the present invention is provided to overcome such inconveniences, facilitating the placement of therapeutic means, even for people with real difficulties and without the need, for the patient, to have to raise the legs, since the veins are emptied as the average is placed.

The present invention relates to a device according to claim 1. Another object of the invention is a device according to claim 2.

With reference to the figures mentioned above, the device of the present invention essentially comprises a ring 1 made of a deformable material, so that it can have a variable section. Such a ring may have a circular or polygonal shape, in a case provided with a series of polyhedra 11 which have the objective of facilitating the winding-winding of the middle C on it. The polyhedra can be coated with a material that creates friction (latex, for example) in order to facilitate the winding of the stocking, increase the adhesion of the ring on the surface of the stockings and avoid possible sliding on the support described then. The number of polyhedra is variable depending on their dimensions and the type of averages.

In addition, the device comprises an elongated support 2, preferably cylindrical, more preferably provided with suitable grooves 21, which allows the middle C to be wound on itself and in the ring, once the support has been inserted in the middle. The passage of the grooves can be variable, for example, they may be closer to the tail, depending on the type of media to be rolled.

The third element of the device is a retractor tool 3 in which the wound half is placed in the ring 1 and which allows the toroidal portion of the wound half C to extend, such as to facilitate the introduction of the limb inside . For this purpose, such a tool comprises an annular portion 31 that can vary its diameter and a handle 32. Such a handle can also be used for the operation of the variation of the diameter of the annular portion, for example, by means of a rotation around itself. same. Such a turn can be operated manually operated, or, alternatively, the tool can be provided with a small drive motor intended to perform the turn.

It is possible to completely roll the stocking through the ring and the support, and then unwind it completely on the leg without any effort. Once the stocking phase is complete, the ring can be easily removed.

It is also possible to roll only a portion of the stocking, for example, from the upper opening of the region corresponding to the ankle, in order to put the stocking on the foot in a similar way to the conventional one (pulling the toroidal area that also serves as a natural and effective grip) and once the ankle has passed, the unwinding procedure begins.

The device according to the present invention achieves the following advantages and has the characteristics described below.

However, all the elements of the device are never in direct contact with the user's leg. The user does not have to raise the legs before using the stockings since the veins are emptied as it is placed due to the pressure exerted on the leg by the compression force generated by the toroidal portion of the rolled half and by the ring one.

The way in which the socks are placed protects the socks themselves from the strong stretching tensions, which, on the contrary, are generated by placing them in the conventional manner, preserving the elasticity characteristics over time.

The arrangement of the ring ensures proper turning movement and allows the retractor tool to be used easily.

The retractor is compact and can be used both to facilitate the introduction of the foot in the middle, and to facilitate the passage beyond the ankle.

The ring may always be limited to the average or it may be an integral part thereof. Therefore, it is possible to provide the average with a toroidal portion, with a function similar to that of the ring, integral with their mouth. Such a means allows the means to be rolled up and unwound and allows the retractor tool to be used in the same way as described above.

Obviously, variants of the invention are possible with respect to what has been described so far; some of these variants are shown in Figures 7-7A; 8-8a; 9-9a; 10-10a, in which the structurally or functionally equivalent parts to those already seen above, are indicated with the same reference numbers; the numbering relative to each variant is identified with corresponding vertices.

From the first variant of Figures 7, 7a, 8, 8a, the retractor tool 3 ', in this case comprises an annular portion 31', divided into two halves 31'a, 31'b.

The latter are coupled with a screw 33 'actuated in rotation by a handle 32', in order to be widened following the rotation of the screw.

With respect to the previous embodiment, this variant is particularly suitable in the case of means that require a high spreading force:

In fact, the spreading mechanism with a screw 33 'and the two semicircular portions 31'a, 31'b, is substantially similar to a jaw capable of applying a relevant force if necessary. In addition, like the embodiment of Figure 3, the retractor tool can be easily used by the same person who must wear the stockings, since the handle 32 'can be picked up by the person in a seated condition, for operation of placing the stocking on one foot.

Figures 9, 9a show a second variant of the retractor tool 3 ", which is suitable for being picked up by a person other than the one who must wear the stockings; reference could be made to a nurse who helps a patient for an operation of this type.

As can be seen, the retractor tool has a substantially scissor-shaped shape with a handle 32 "and with semicircular portions 31" a, 31 "b, being provided at one end, the latter being used to widen and expand the toroidal portion of the half rolled up as in Figure 6.

In such a case, it is enough to manually operate the 3 "tool, like common scissors.

The similarity with the latter, however, is not limiting, since it is in any case possible to provide other forms of the retractor tool, as can be seen in the third variant of Figures 10, 10a.

The tool 3 "', in addition to the semicircular portions 31"' a, 31 "'b, is provided with a lever handle 32"' which allows its expansion.

The result is similar to that of the previous variants, although in this case the use of tool 3 "'can be done by a different person than the one who should wear the socks.
