Abstract

Un procedimiento para la fabricación de membranas tubulares de expansión para tambores de confección de cubiertas neumáticas, cuyas membranas pueden expansionarse elásticamente en dirección radial desde un diámetro mínimo a un diámetro máximo previamente fijados, caracterizado esencialmente por el hecho de disponer alrededor de un cuerpo cilíndrico de diámetro inferior al mínimo antes citado una hoja de goma cruda en aumentar después el diámetro del cuerpo cilíndrico para que el diámetro externo de la hoja alcance el cuerpo cilíndrico para que el diámetro externo de la hoja alcance el diámetro correspondiente a su máxima expansión previamente fijada en arrollar un tejido engomado sin trama de hilos paralelos entre sí y el eje del cuerpo cilíndrico en arrollar en espiral alrededor de la parte central de dicho tejido un pequeño cordón constituído por uno o más hilos de goma extensibles revestidos con un torzal de material inexteacible, sometiéndolo a un esfuerzo de torción correspondiente a las solicitaciones que le serán transmitidas cada vez que la membrana alcanzarán su diámetro máximo en aplicar una segunda hoja de goma cruda y sucesivamente una cobertura eléctrica en llevar nuevamente el cuerpo cilíndrico a su diámetro primitivo, y en vulcanizar el complejo.
