Abstract

Polímero para la inmovilización de especies de mercurio.#La elevada toxicidad del mercurio hace necesaria la búsqueda de métodos de limpieza y recuperación de espacios contaminados. Se presenta un nuevo material polimérico altamente eficaz en dicha captura que presenta, además, una afinidad selectiva hacia distintas especies de mercurio.#El polímero se obtiene por polimerización radicalaria de un monómero derivado de tiourea y NOBE.#El nuevo material puede constituir una herramienta novedosa como sistema de limpieza en aguas residuales, vertidos o lixiviados procedentes de fuentes antropogénicas de mercurio, así como elemento de detoxificación de espacios en los que el mercurio se encuentre presente en cualquiera de sus formas más volátiles.
