Telescopic clothes drying rack

The present patent refers to clothes drying lines, and in particular it refers to a new drying clothesline to be placed on windows to hang clothes.

There are already numerous drying clotheslines made of various materials that are used to hang clothes or other items to dry (for example see documents DE-U1-9414403 and EP-A1-0916297).

These drying clotheslines comprising two horizontally protruding arms, normally constructed of metal or plastic, are fixed to rails by means of suitable coupling devices.

These drying clotheslines are removable and often have stability problems since they are not always properly secured to the rail.

In addition, the weight of wet laundry can lead to breakage or drying rack drying.

These conventional drying clotheslines also have fixed sizes and are not adjustable.

Shutters or blinds for window protection are well known. These types of fixed elements are intended not to allow light to pass through and to prevent rain or wind from damaging the windows in which they are located. In addition, these closures are designed to prevent third parties, such as thieves, from entering people's homes through the windows.

These closures are preferably made of wood, metal or PVC.

There are also special types of so-called blinds, which consist of slats and profiles preferably made of metal, such as aluminum alloy, steel, etc. or plastic or wood.

These blinds are raised with a mechanism that rolls them around an upper axis, called a roller, located in a box housed in the wall. The blind is wrapped like this! around said axis to form a cylinder in the box.

The sheets of the closure slide up and down on lateral glues, preferably galvanized metal fixed on the wall or fixed internally to the jambs of the windows.

These glues, made with a metal profile, are normally fixed inside the wall, but they can also be external to the jambs with a frontal tilt mechanism.

In order to eliminate the instability of the drying line and prevent it from separating from, or falling out of, the rail, a new clothes drying line has been designed, preferably made of metallic material and applicable on opposite metal glues of the window blinds.

This new drying clothesline comprises at least two opposite symmetrical elements, each comprising at least one cable that maintains the cantilever support articulated to an integral "C" shaped seat or support perpendicular with a post that is suitable to be inserted into the opposing glues of the blind and in which two horizontal bars perpendicular to that upright are fixed, each suitable to be fixed to the corresponding horizontal telescopic bar integral with the other upright, which also has a cantilever support for securing the cable, support "C" shaped, and suitable amount to be inserted in the opposite glutton of the blind.

The telescopic sliding mechanism that is created allows the clothesline to adapt to any window size of this type, and is further reinforced by a second telescopic system mounted on the front end of the drying rack so as to prevent the cantilever supports cable clamp fall inwards if overloaded with excessively wet and heavy clothes.

These horizontal cantilever supports are attached to the corresponding uprights by means of the “C” shaped seat or support.

The simple element formed by the upright and the "C" shaped support is mounted on the cantilever supports for securing the cable by means of a threaded pin. The articulated mechanism that is created allows the movement of the two cantilever supports outwards which, at the end of the 90 ° rotation, makes them substantially parallel and in opposition to each other. In addition, the two horizontal bars preferably comprise a "double C" telescopic profile so that it is inserted into each other. In this way it is possible to adjust, according to the width of the window, the distance between the uprights that are inserted in the glues. These slide bars can be secured with a manual locking device.

This drying line is then inserted into the window in a stable manner and can remain in position even when the blind is lowered until it touches the uprights.

In fact, when the blind is lowered, it rests on the upper horizontal bar or on the uprights.

One purpose of the present invention is to use the windows, and therefore the space outside the home to hang clothes without using the useful space inside the house.

Another purpose of the invention is to create a drying rack of variable width that can be used for any type and size of window equipped with a blind or possibly a traditional closure with the help of specific accessories.

Another purpose is to allow the user to look out the window safely to hang the laundry to dry.

In addition, this drying clothesline is an additional safety tool for children since the horizontal bars form a barrier against broths increasing the level of security of the window by 20 cm.

To properly illustrate the operation of this drying clothesline, the following drawings are attached.

Figure 1 shows the new drying line (a) composed of two symmetrical elements, one right and one left (bs, bd), each comprising a post (cd, cs) and a "C" shaped support (ss, sd) on which the cable support cantilever mount (md, ms) is mounted.

Figures 2, 3 and 4 show the drying rack in three views, front, side and top.

Each cantilever support (md, ms) is an integral part with an upright (cd, cs) that is suitable for insertion into the corresponding glues of the blinds.

Orthogonal to each of these uprights (cd, cs) there are at least one or preferably two fixed horizontal bars (ad, as).

The horizontal bars (ad, as) of the two opposite symmetrical elements (bd, bs) can be fixed together and are mutually telescopic, to vary the distance between the uprights (cd, cs), that is, the width overall drying rack, according to the size of the window on which the drying rack itself should be installed. These bars (ad, as) comprise at least one restriction device (k) to block the sliding of the bars (ad, as) by themselves in the desired position.

The cantilever supports (md, ms) are equipped with a system to align the grooved holes or grooves (f) in positions corresponding to the cantilever supports (md, ms), regularly spaced from each other, through which they pass a washable cable (i) to hang the laundry. The cantilever supports (md and ms) are equipped with holes for the passage of at least one pin (t) to block the shelves (md, ms) in the working position with respect to the C-shaped support (sd, ss ) relative.

The drying clothesline is preferably equipped with an additional telescopic bar (h) located on the outer front suitable to prevent deformation of the clothesline by keeping the two horizontal cantilever supports (md, ms) parallel and preventing them from collapsing inwards under the pressure of wet laundry.

Each amount (ms, md) can also have a second thinner amount (zd, zs) attached to it to be inserted into narrower glues.

When the blind is closed, the user must lower the blind to the point where the blind rests on the first bar. In this way the user does not have to remove the clothesline from the window every day and can use the drying line and the blind simultaneously.

The described system allows the clothesline to be fixed to the window in a stable manner.

This new drying clothesline allows clothes to be hung safely because while the laundry hangs, the user is protected against broths by the barrier formed by the horizontal bars.

The new drying line can also comprise a flat filling wall at the level of the horizontal bars (ad, as).
