Abstract

Un procedimiento de producción de una mezcla de ácidos carboxílicos de cadena corta a partir de biomasa, comprendiendo el procedimiento: añadir un aceite de biomasa que contiene un compuesto que presenta un grupo carboxilo a un vaso de reactor; calentarel aceite de biomasa en el vaso de reactor a una temperatura que varía de 390º C a 440º C durante un tiempo suficiente para craquear el aceite de biomasa; eliminar materiales no deseados, material no reaccionado, y productos finales ligeros de la biomasa craqueada; y eliminar una mezcla que contiene al menos aproximadamente 5% de ácidos carboxílicos que presentan longitudes de cadena de carbono entre C2 y C16.
