Abstract
Un método de localizar la fuente de una señal desconocida, caracterizado porque el método comprende las etapas de: (i) calcular un desfase diferencial para una señal para cada una de una pluralidad de posiciones dentro de una región en la cual debe encontrarse el transmisor (10), para cada uno de una serie de tiempos m con respecto a los repetidores de señal primero y segundo (14/16) y con respecto a los receptores primero y segundo (18A/18B), siendo las posiciones de los repetidores de señal (14/16) y de los receptores (18A/18B) conocidas; (ii) generar una función de ambigüedad cruzada (CAF - Cross-Ambiguity Function, en inglés) utilizando datos correspondientes a muestras de la señal desconocida recibida en los receptores primero y segundo (18A/18B) a través de los repetidores de señal primero y segundo (14/16) respectivamente; (iii) estimar el nivel de ruido de la CAF; y (iv) utilizar los datos generados en las etapas (i), (ii) y (iii) para obtener una medición de la probabilidad de que la fuente esté situada dentro de áreas definidas dentro de la citada región; donde los desfases diferenciales son desfases de tiempo diferenciales (DTOs - Differential Time Offsets, en inglés) o desfases de frecuencia diferenciales (DFOs - Differential Frequency Offsets, en inglés), o ambos DTOs y DFOs; y donde en el dominio de la frecuencia, los citados datos son convertidos a un formato de decibelios utilizando**Fórmula** donde los valores interpolados de la superficie de ambigüedad vienen dados por**Fórmula** dondeT0 y ν 0 son los DTO y DFO en el punto de índice 0,0 y -1<=p<=1, -1<=q<=1, donde los valores de p y de q que maximizan f vienen dados por**Fórmula**
