TECHNICAL SECTOR

The present invention is part of the field of formulations for cosmetic and personal hygiene use. In particular, it refers to the formulation of a product for cosmetic use, preferably for personal hygiene, with gelatinous texture. Additionally, 10 also refers to the manufacturing process of said formulation.

STATE OF THE TECHNIQUE

The manufacture of soaps with gelatinous texture is already known in the state of the art. In particular, patent application JP2010030962 describes a gelatinous body soap containing polyacrylate. This soap is viscous and can easily spread during use, additionally it has good adhesion to the skin and moisturizing effect after use.

On the other hand, the Kelco company markets a shower soap (DF-9657) with a jelly-like appearance. The formulation of this soap is as follows (amounts expressed in% weight / weight):

Gelatinous textured personal hygiene products can be manufactured in a variety of different shapes such as puzzle pieces, bricks, animals, stars, hearts, letters, etc. They can also have a striking color, as well as pleasant perfumes with citrus, sweet, green, etc., in particular for a certain type of audience. Therefore, personal hygiene products with gelatinous texture have a great potential for marketing to a particular type of audience, in particular, children or young people.

Thus, a first aspect of the present invention relates to the formulation of a personal hygiene product comprising: at least one anionic surfactant, at least one anionic gelling agent, at least one thickening agent, at least one humectant and water.

The formulation of the personal hygiene product of the present invention has a gelatinous texture, while solving the aforementioned problems presented by other known personal hygiene products with similar texture. In particular, the formulation of the present invention allows maintaining the integrity of the piece after several uses.

The surfactants included in the formulation of the personal hygiene product of the present invention are of an anionic nature, to avoid incompatibilities in the formulation with gelling agents, preferably of natural origin, which are also anionic in nature.

The inventors have observed that, in order to control the rheology of the final product, other components such as thickeners of natural origin such as natural gums, cellulose derivatives, etc., favor that said product with gelatinous texture does not break with use, preferably when Extracellular polysaccharides produced by bacteria in a minimum concentration of 0.1% by weight with respect to the weight of the formulation of the invention are incorporated.

C8-C22 acyl isethionate alkali metal and a combination thereof. Preferably, the alkali metal salt is a sodium salt.

In a more preferred embodiment, the formulation of the personal hygiene product of the present invention, with gelatinous texture, comprises a mixture of two different anionic surfactants: an alkaline salt of a C8-C22 alkyl sulphonate and an alkaline salt of 5 C8- C22 alkyl ether sulfate. Preferably, both surfactants are sodium salts.

The incorporation of an alkali salt of a C8-C22 alkyl sulfonate, in particular sodium lauryl sulfate, in the formulation of the present invention results in the generation of foam when using the product. On the other hand, the addition of an alkali salt of a C8-C22 alkyl ether sulfate, in particular sodium cocoyl isethionate, is advantageous since it facilitates the generation of foam to take place more rapidly.

In a particularly preferred embodiment, the product formulation described in this patent application comprises, expressed as a percentage by weight with respect to the total weight of the formulation between 5-9% sodium lauryl sulfate and between 1-4% cocoyl sodium isethionate Preferably, 6-7% sodium lauryl sulfate and between 3-4% sodium cocoyl isethionate.

This specific combination of anionic surfactants makes it possible to obtain a product with gelatinous texture that rapidly generates the desired amount of foam, so that it is especially suitable when the personal hygiene product is hand soap, in particular, for children or young people.

Anionic surfactants suitable for use in the product of the present invention, in particular sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium cocoyl isethionate, are commercially available.

Generally, these commercial surfactants are diluted before they are used to obtain personal hygiene products such as soaps. However, in the formulation of the present invention they are preferably used undiluted, in solid form, to then melt them in the water present in the formulation (preferably at 75 ° C). In this way it is possible to achieve the necessary concentration of surfactants to obtain the desired degree of foam, while simplifying the manufacturing process of the personal hygiene product. 35

The anionic gelling agents used in the formulation are used to generate different rheological profiles by correctly adjusting other ingredients present in the formulation, allowing gels with a wide range of textures and viscosities to be formulated. There are different types of anionic gelling agents, with galactose derivatives being preferable. And even more preferable, carrageenans or carrageenans. These gelling agents are natural anionic polymers that can be found in red seaweed, and provide adequate gelatin consistency, in terms of plasticity and hardness, to the product of the invention.

However, the presence of anionic gelling agents, in particular carrageenans, in the formulation of the invention, was not sufficient to prevent the gelatinous texture of the product from breaking with its use. In a second aspect, the present invention relates to the method of obtaining the formulation of the personal hygiene product described in this patent application. This procedure includes the following stages:

a) preparing an aqueous phase by mixing at least one anionic surfactant and at least one humectant with water, preferably between 20-30 ° C;

b) adjust the temperature of the aqueous phase obtained in step a) between 75-85 ° C;

f) cooling, preferably to a temperature between 20-30 ° C.

In preferred embodiments, the personal hygiene product formulation of the present invention can be obtained as follows: The water present in the formulation of the invention is mixed with the anionic surfactants and humectants such

as glycerin, propylene glycol and sorbitol syrup, that is, sorbitol diluted 70% in water, giving rise to an aqueous phase.

Sorbitol syrup is formed by the hydrogenation of glucose syrup composed of D-Sorbitol, D-Mannitol and hydrogenated disaccharides, and is a clear and colorless solution with a sweet taste, miscible with water.

On the other hand, carrageenans and xanthan gum are added to a mixture of humectants, in particular propylene glycol and glycerin. This addition can be done at a temperature between 20 and 30 ° C. 10
