Abstract

Se describe una instalación para la elaboración de cal viva, a partir de piedra caliza (carbonato cálcico) y mediante aplicación de calor para separación del óxido de calcio y de los gases carbónicos, de tipo horizontal giratoria, constituida por tres secciones de precalentamiento, horno de calcinación y enfriamiento, que incluyen cuerpos tubulares giratorios respectivos, en la que se desarrolla un proceso continuo que presenta la particularidad de calentamiento indirecto del material mediante radiación y conducción del calor generado por medio de quemadores, y la particularidad de desarrollo de un proceso discontinuo, merced a la provisión de medios de pesaje en la sección de horno de calcinación que tras una medición precisa del material existente en la sección de calcinación, determinan la transferencia de este material a la sección de enfriamiento cuando el peso se reduce en una proporción preestablecida.
