Abstract

Cultivo en flotación de macrófitos en embalses.#Nuevo procedimiento para el mantenimiento de los embalses consistente en disponer sobre la superficie del agua un tapiz de macrófitos.#Ese tapiz de macrófitos se encuentra en flotación, y está formado por especies que en condiciones naturales fijan sus raíces en la orilla o en zonas poco profundas de humedales, con una parte aérea emergente, incluyendo los géneros Typha, Sparganium, Scirpus, Canna, Juncus, Iris y otros similares.#Ese tapiz puede tener forma variable y puede ser anclado al fondo del embalse o amarrado a la orilla, y puede constituir una isla o tener un determinado número de zonas de contacto con la orilla. Está formado por porciones de tapiz cultivado en vivero que son unidas en el embalse mediante grapas o ataduras de material biológico, como esparto, madera, mimbre, etc.#Con él se logra reducir la colmatación del embalse, su eutrofización, su pérdida de agua y su contribución al calentamiento global y regional y aumentar su capacidad para albergar biodiversidad.
