2. Statement motivated according to articles 29.6 and 29.7 of the Regulations for the execution of Law 11/1986, of March 20, on Patents on novelty and inventive activity; quotes and explanations in support of this statement

This report is based on patent application ES201131318 consisting of 12 claims. The object of the invention is a modular furniture system.

In the State of the Art we find several modular furniture systems with profiles that define its edges and also use the rear profile to be placed in a module location, such as document D01 (summary, figures 1 and 2) .

It discloses a modular furniture system comprising rear profiles configured to define a rear edge of the module and to be placed in a module location; front profiles configured to define a front edge of the module; boards, plates, fronts and a plurality of connectors to join the profiles to them. It is not identically included in the prior art and is therefore new (Art. 6.1 LP 11/1986), but does not present inventive activity for claims 1 to 7 (Art. 8.1 LP 11/1986).

It differs from the request in the characteristics of the profiles. These characteristics are shown in documents D02 and D03.

Document D02 (summary, figures 2 and 3) discloses a modular furniture system comprising rear profiles configured to define a rear edge of the module; front profiles configured to define a front edge of the module; side panels and a plurality of connectors to join the profiles and the boards. A pair of profiles comprising a rear profile and a front profile forms a selected module edge between an upper edge and a lower edge. It also comprises a lower plate at the lower edge, a front at the front edge, an upper plate at the upper edge and a rear plate at the rear edge. The rear profiles comprise a bottom groove configured to accommodate a rear end; a rear recess configured to define a support surface for a lower or upper plate; lateral joining means configured to be connected to bolts. The front profiles comprise a front recess configured to define a support surface for a lower or upper plate; lateral joining means configured to be connected to bolts. It has means to support a shelf.

It differs from the request in that the rear profiles do not have rear connection means configured to be connected to location means with the module. As already mentioned, profiles with said technical characteristic are well known in the prior art where it is mentioned, for example document D03. Said document (summary and figures) discloses location means having a housing comprising a form conjugated with a rear form (16) of the rear profiles configured to receive the rear profiles; fixing means (30) that have a complementary shape to the engagement means for fixing the rear profiles in the location means. In addition, the location means have a configuration that could be suitable for fixing a bottom panel, as already shown in the prior art.

A person skilled in the art would have known document D03 and would have combined it with document D02 to show all the details mentioned in the application. Therefore, claims 1 to 12 do not imply inventive activity. (Art. 8.1 LP 11/1986).
