The packaging of the paper box used is normally easy to open, and the contents, that is, the ink cartridge, is easy to steal.

Neutralizing measures lead to packaging that is not pleasing to the consumer and to additional costs in the form, for example, of security labels on the packages.

As a consequence, end consumers often have to buy a package that cannot be easily opened in the place where the product is used, that is, at home or in the office. Even after requiring the use of auxiliary mechanical means, such as scissors or knives, the packaging is difficult to open. In addition, with the application of resistant plastic materials, such as A-PET, there is a risk of injury by the opening means themselves, or by sharp edges of the cut plastic material.

Containers with a detachable lid sealed on a flat sealing flange on the circumferential edge of the container are well known as food packaging. The main application of the packaging according to the present invention is the packaging of higher priced products, relatively small non-food products, such as, for example, ink cartridges, batteries, spark plugs, air fresheners, toothbrushes, etc.

A container 10 illustrated in Figure 1, for receiving non-food items, such as ink cartridges, spark plugs or other products that are to be protected from the ease of theft, has a bottom 12 and a side wall 14 extending from the bottom 12, and that defines a cavity for the item to be packed.
