The invention relates to a folding box for frozen foods and a device for manufacturing the folding box.

Folding boxes for deep-frozen foods are used for example for fish or vegetable wands. Due to this application purpose, materials compatible with food products must be used. Consequently, primary fiber cardboard (also called "virgin fiber cardboard") is used as the starting material, since a secondary fiber cardboard (also called "recycled cardboard") should not be used for hygienic reasons. This can occur particularly easily by separating the perforation when removing the tear tape. US 3,951,333 describes a package for surgical articles and instruments made from a one-piece cardboard template, which is coated on both sides or on one side only by a heat sealable barrier layer. The tear tape has a starting part, which is provided with a reinforcing strip, to facilitate the initial separation of the tear tape.

Based on this, the invention is based on the task of creating a folding box for deep-frozen foods with more favorable handling properties. It is also necessary to create a device for the manufacture of the folding box.

The task is solved by a folding box with the characteristics of claim 1.

The tear-off tape of the folding box according to the invention is easy to open due to the reinforcement strip. This results in smooth edges and the cardboard does not fray. Here it is particularly advantageous that the resistant layer made of polyolefin is separated by the reinforcing strip attached sufficiently fixed thereto. The open folding box has a pleasant appearance and cardboard debris does not fall on deep-frozen foods. The polyolefin, with which the cardboard is coated, is preferably a polyethylene. The polyolefin may in particular also be a polypropylene. The invention also includes folding boxes, in which the layer on the inner side of the cardboard consists of another suitable synthetic material other than a polyolefin. Fundamentally, the invention relates to cartons that are provided on the inner side with a layer of synthetic material compatible with food products and suitable for deep-freezing.

It is understood that the reinforcement strip also consists of a material compatible with food products and suitable for deep-freezing. Preferably, the tensile strength of the reinforcing strip exceeds the tensile strength of the polyolefin, with which the cardboard is coated on the inner side. For example, the reinforcement strip consists of oriented polypropylene. In this case it is a stretched and extended polypropylene as well as thermofixed.

The reinforcing strip can have various cross-sectional shapes. In particular, it may consist of a reinforcement thread for example with a circular cross-section, or a reinforcement band, for example with a rectangular cross-section. Preferably it is a reinforcing band, which can be attached on a smooth side particularly well to the polyolefin layer.

The reinforcing strip can be attached in various ways to the polyolefin layer, in particular by sealing, welding or adhesion. Adhesion is preferred. Preferably, the reinforcement strip is already provided with an adhesive before joining the polyolefin layer, so that it can be attached to the layer by placement in the depression.

According to a structure, the at least one wall with the depression on the inner side has no elevation on the outer side above the depression. An impression on the outer side of the wall is not hindered accordingly by an elevation.
