Abstract

Description

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an interior covering under ceilings, which is constituted by panels that are suspended from rails fixed to the ceiling.

The coating of the invention can be applied internally under covers of any type, which do not have thermal insulation or decorative coating, to provide both functions, being of special application to concrete-based roofs, joist and vault covers, etc.

There are also known roof coverings consisting of panels comprising a front decorative layer and a thermally insulated back layer, joined together by an adhesive, whose panels are suspended from the ceiling by means of elements consisting of Z-shaped plate profiles , one of whose extreme branches is inserted between the front and rear layers of the panel, while the other extreme branch rests up against the inner surface of the ceiling, to which it is fixed by auxiliary fasteners, such as screws or nails. The coatings that have the exposed constitution are described in US2968070 and US2779979. Both documents describe coatings according to the preamble of claim 1.

This mounting system requires fixing one of the extreme branches of the Z-shaped profile or element to the ceiling or ceiling component from which the panels are suspended, by means of auxiliary fixing elements, such as nails, screws, etc. .

Background of the invention

The interior roof coverings are generally made up of frieze or pallet slats nailed on a wooden track that in turn is fixed to the roof by nails, studs, screws or glue. Insulation plates will be placed between the frieze and the wall.

Traditional coatings, while serving as a means of thermal insulation, do not offer ample finishing possibilities.

Description of the invention

The objective of the present invention is an interior roof covering, constituted so as to simplify assembly operations, with a simple constitution and low cost elements, and so as to reduce installation time.

The coating of the invention is of the type described above, comprising panels having a front decorative layer and a thermally insulated back layer, which are joined together by an adhesive element, the panel presented the possibility of showing different finishes on the face bottom, for example, wooden friezes of different widths, plywood, plaster, acoustic conditioning elements, fiber cement, fiber cement, etc. As with the thermally insulated backsheet, it can be made of expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene, etc. The different layers that form the panel can be joined using polyurethane glue, during the process of pressing or forming the panel. Depending on the spaces and finishes chosen, the panel can have a third back layer of reinforcement made of another material (metal, wood, plastic ...) or it can have a wooden core.

Panels with the described constitution are suspended from the battens using hooks attached to the edge of the panel and to the batter. The hooks comprise a lower outer branch inserted between the two layers of the panels, from at least two of the opposite edges of said panels, an extreme upper branch, and a central branch between the upper and lower branches resting on its inner surface on the edge of the panel.

The aforementioned hooks consist of U-shaped pieces with flat branches. One of the extreme branches of the U-shaped profile will be in a lower position, to be inserted between the two layers of the panel. The central layer will be upright. The other extreme branch of the U-shaped piece is in an upper position and is connected to a strip.

According to the invention, the central branch of the hooks protrudes upwardly from the rear surface of the panel in a section that is as high as the profile of the battens, and rests laterally against the panel and against the strip, and the upper branch rests on the upper surface of the track.

The hooks can be made of sheet metal, folded to define the three branches of the U-profiles, with the lateral branches perpendicular to the central branch. This central branch will support, through the edge adjacent to the aforementioned lateral extension of the upper extreme branch, on the track on which said lateral extension rests.

The lower branch of the hook, which is intended to be inserted between the two layers of the panel, may have the end portion tipped to facilitate penetration between the two layers of the panel. In addition, it can have a central axial groove from the free edge, to facilitate its insertion and prevent the detachment of a large portion of insulation thus ensuring a good fixation to the panel.

According to an embodiment variant, which is not part of the invention, the upper and lower branches of the hooks are perpendicular to the central branch and run in opposite directions, from said central branch. The hook adopts a Z-shaped configuration of right angles. In addition, the upper branch of the hooks has a hole for the passage of a fixing screw to the rails.

The orifice of the upper branch will preferably be oblong, in a direction perpendicular to the central branch of the hook.

With this configuration, the hooks can be easily mounted, since through the lower branch they are introduced between the layers of the panels, while the upper branch, directed in the opposite direction, will rest against the lower or outer face of the strips or profiles to which they are fixed by screws introduced through the oblong hole of the upper branch, thus ensuring the position of the panels with respect to the rails, without allowing slides or movements thereof in any direction.

Another advantage of this type of hooks is the possibility of mounting panels on vertical walls in which a conventional tracking system has been installed, butt against said wall. The invention even allows direct fixation on the wall, as a covering thereof, since the hook used as a fixing means could be anchored directly on the wall, by means of a screw introduced through the oblong hole of the hook and screwable into a plug arranged in a hole previously made in the wall.

The oblong configuration of the hole of the upper branch will allow to adjust the position of the hooks, with its central branch resting against the edge of the panels, thus achieving a safer structure, against unwanted movements of the panels, and a perfect positioning and adjustment between panels.

Detailed description of one embodiment

In figure 1 a portion of a coating constituted according to the invention, composed of panels 1 that are hung on battens 2, which, as can be seen in figure 2, are fixed to the internal surface is shown in top perspective of the ceiling by means of pins 3 that are fixed to the battens 2 and that are suspended from threaded rods 4 that are anchored by means of a block 5 to the ceiling. The adjustment of the height of the battens 2 and fixation of their position is achieved by means of nuts 6.

The battens 2 will preferably be of wood, constituted for example by stringers of rectangular section.

The panels 1, as best seen in Figure 6, will be constituted on the basis of a previous layer 7, which will define the surface seen of the panel and that may be of different natures to offer different finishes, and by a subsequent layer 8 of nature thermally insulating, these two layers being joined together by an adhesive, for example during the process of forming the panels.

The hanging of the panels 1 of the battens 2 is carried out by means of hooks 9 which have a lower outer branch 10, of flat structure, which is intended to be introduced between the two layers 7 and 8 of the panels, from at least two of the opposite edges 11 and 12 of the panel according to the finish of the panel, figure 1, to serve as a means of anchoring or fixing the hook to the panels. The hooks 9 also have an upper branch 13, which will rest on the rails 2, as will be discussed below, and a central branch 14 that runs between the lower 10 and upper 13 branches.

In the example depicted in the drawings, the hook 9 is made of sheet metal, formed in a U-shape, the lower end branch 10 being longer than the upper branch 13, this lower branch 10 being also topped off to facilitate insertion between the layers 7 and 8 of the panels, and with a central longitudinal groove 15, from the free edge, to ensure the position between the layers 7 and 8 of the panels avoiding their separation.

Figure 4 shows the confrontation of the lower branch 10 of the hooks at the edge of the panels 1, for its introduction between layers 7 and 8, as shown in Figure 6.

By fixing the hooks 9 in the panels 1, the central branch 14 of the hooks is attached by its internal surface to the edge of the panel, as can be seen in Figure 5.

The central branch 14 of the hooks will protrude from the rear surface of the panels 1, as shown in Figure 6, in a section of height equal to the height H of the battens 2, as shown in Figure 6. Of this Thus, the upper branch 13 of the hooks is located at the same height as the upper surface of the battens 2.

As can be seen in Figure 3, the upper branch 13 of the hooks 9 has a lateral widening 16 which in the mounting position, as shown in Figure 5, rests on the upper surface of the battens 2, thus serving as hanging means of the hooks 13 of the rails.

When the panels do not have head tongue and groove, a hook 2 in the head and inverted pins 3 can be provided, as shown in figures 7 and 8, so that the cantilever section serves as a stop that prevents the elevation of the panels 1 by above its correct mounting position and generate a false tongue and groove using the angular pieces 3 screwed to the track as shown in figure 7.

The fixing of the rods 4 that suspend the battens 2 to the ceiling can be carried out by means of standard plugs.

For the installation of the coating of the invention, a staking process is carried out, marking on the ceiling some guide lines that will indicate the position of the battens. Next, on these lines, the holes for fixing the rods 4 will be made by means of suitable plugs.

The rails 2 will be fixed to the angles 3 by screws, then the angles 3 are placed, all of them at the same height using the nuts 6 on the rods 4.

On the other hand, between the layers 7 and 8 of the panels the hooks 9 are fixed in the manner already described. These hooks must be placed on the panel with the same distance as the battens 2 between them, each panel carrying a certain number of hooks depending on the finish of the panel and its size.

Finally, the panel is installed, by means of a simple hanging action by means of the hooks 9 which, through the extension 16 of the upper end branch 13, are suspended from the rails 2.

With the described constitution, a coating with different decorative surfaces can be available and the installation time is extremely fast, which will have a favorable impact on the final costs of the work.

As can be seen in Figures 5 and 6, the central branch 14 of the hooks supports by its internal surface in the edge of the panels 1, while by the edge adjacent to the extension 16 of the upper end branch 13 it rests against the battens 2, thus preventing any accidental movement, once the coating is mounted.

As can be seen in Figures 7 and 8, the hooks 9 can be arranged in the position represented in Figures 5 and 6, with the branch 13 and extension 16 longitudinally thereon, as indicated by reference 9 'in the Figure 8 to simulate a tongue and groove.

A hook 9 is shown in Figure 9, not forming part of the invention, which adopts Z-shaped configuration, of right angles. This hook, like the hook of Figure 3 includes an upper end branch 13 'a lower outer branch 10 which are perpendicular to the central branch 14, but are directed in opposite directions. The lower branch 10, as in the hook of Figure 3, has a longitudinal groove 15 from its extreme transverse edge, delimiting two arms 18 of oblique end transverse edge 19, to facilitate its introduction between layers 7 and 8 of the panels, from their edges, as shown in figure 11. The upper end branch 10 will rest on the rails 2 and has an oblong hole 20, figure 9, in a direction perpendicular to the central branch 14 of the hook , for the passage of a screw 21 for fixing to the rails.

With the described constitution, the assembly of the hooks 9 can be carried out in a simple way, with the end branches 10 and 13 'being directed in opposite directions, the intermediate branch 14 running on one side to the panels 1 and the opposite to the battens 2.

Thanks to the oblong hole 20, the position of the hooks 9, with respect to the rails 2, can be adjusted or corrected to ensure the correct consecutive positioning of the panels 1 that will form the interior roof covering.

The hook shown in FIGS. 9 can also be used for the assembly of wall tiles, which can be carried out by means of screws with their respective plugs, for example bolted to a track, on the wall or by any other system.

1.-Interior covering for ceilings, comprising panels (1) that are suspended from rails (2) fixed to the ceiling, whose panels comprise a front decorative layer (7) and a rear layer (8) with thermal insulation, which are joined together by an adhesive element, said panels being suspended from the 5 strips using hooks (9) attached to the edge of the panel (1) and the strip (2), comprising a lower outer branch (10) inserted between the two layers of the panels (1), an upper upper branch (13) , and a central branch (14) between the upper and lower branches resting on its inner surface on the edge of the panel (1), characterized in that the central branch (14) of the hooks protrudes upwardly from the panel (1) in a section that is so high as the profile of the track (2), and the upper branch (13) rests on the top surface of the track  10 (2). 2.
