Abstract

Description

Cardboard box with articulated closure.

The present invention relates to a box of cardboard provided with an articulated closure, with snap closure,  box-shaped and suitable for containing a product that can be supply through an access side consisting of one of their faces, on which rests said closure.

This type of cardboard boxes presents normally a tongue on an edge of the access side, tongue  which is covered by the closure and in particular that is crushed by the inner face of a wall of the closure on which it is formed one step.

With the closure in configuration completely closed, the protruding end of the tongue is hooked by above the step, preventing reverse travel and doing notice a characteristic "click" that indicates the closing accomplished. To open said closure, however, it is sufficient to force slightly the closure itself, causing elastic deformation of the tongue that, by dimensions and consistency, does not remain folded

Known cardboard boxes of the type before specified, widely used in conditioning, are formed in its dimensional format starting from a semi-finished monobloc plane, comprising panels, edges and wings predisposed for folding and gluing operations, performed preferably of semi-rigid cardboard material, such as cardboard triplex and the like. The closing side in correspondence with the which joins the body of the cardboard box, that is a folding that acts as a hinge, is formed frontally in the edge of the access side comprising said tab.

In this case the closure is obtained by folding and gluing an extension of the wall opposite said tongue, to form the sides of the closure and the internal step.

It is positioned, see for example the document US-5,911,239-A, makes more complex full assembly operations, because of the various maneuvers that the cardboard box must undergo in the process of training. In addition, said closure does not provide for a fixed closure with evidence of antiefraction, so often that these cardboard boxes are conditioned in turn in an envelope, for example cellophane, provided with a torn line.

The cardboard box of the present invention, also formed in its three-dimensional form starting from a semi-finished flat block comprising panels, bands and wings predisposed for folding and gluing operations, it is in particular destined to replace the aforementioned typology of cardboard boxes.

The advantages that are achieved with the box cardboard of the present invention with respect to cardboard boxes Above mentioned with reference to the known technique are essentially of a practical nature, since they facilitate assembly and gluing the semi-finished flat monoblock starting that It presents an outstanding structural simplicity. a closure, formed by an extension of the semi-finished monoblock connected to one end of one of said four panels, and extending with a closing edge perpendicularly towards the common development of said four rectangular panels, said closing edge having two trapezoidal fins intended to fold under the closing edge to form a step suitable for serving as a stop for said tongue, being said extension arranged in such a way that it collapses and folds after the formation of said side walls, around an axis which is perpendicular to the common development of said four panels rectangular, to join the opposite panel with respect to its Connection.

The cardboard box according to the present invention provides a particularly easy assembly closure, distinguished by a remarkable comfort of use and a high structural simplicity.

The present invention will be better illustrated by continuation with the description of one of its embodiments preferred, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the attached plans, in which:

* Figures 2 to 9 are perspective views which illustrate some phases of assembly of a cardboard box obtained from the semi-finished one in figure 1; Y

The cardboard box model according to the present invention is achievable by assembling a flat semi-finished monobloc, for example of the type made of cardboard material semi-rigid or cardboard.

With reference to figure 1, a semi-finished 100 comprises a first panel 102, a second panel 103, a third panel 104 and a fourth panel 105. Said panels 102, 103, 104, 105, all of them rectangular and of equal length, are arranged in the succession 1st, 3rd, 2nd and 4th and are linked together respectively by a first, a second and a third lines lateral folding 106, 107, 108, all parallel to each other and of equal extension

The fourth panel 105 also presents a fourth lateral folding line 109, parallel and analogous to the previous ones, in correspondence with which the fourth panel 105 is attached to a first fixing band 110, suitable for gluing, in the cardboard box assembly 1 completed, to the first panel 102 in correspondence with its free edge 111 parallel and corresponding to the lateral fold lines 106, 107, 108 and 109 above.

The first panel 102 is attached, in correspondence with the first end fold line 112, to a first closing band 113 and, in correspondence with a second end fold line 114 opposite and parallel to the previous one, to a second closure band 115 substantially rectangular and suitable to constitute a bottom wall of the cardboard box, such as It will appear clearly below.

Similarly, the second panel 103 is attached, in correspondence with a third end fold line 116, to a third closure band 117 substantially rectangular and suitable to be covered by the corresponding one with the first edge of closure 113 and, in correspondence with a fourth folding line of end 118 opposite and parallel to the previous one, to a fourth band of closure 119 substantially rectangular and suitable for being covered by the corresponding second closure band 115.

The third panel 104 is attached, in correspondence with respective fifth and sixth fold lines of end 120, 121 parallel and opposite each other, to a first and to a second closing fins 122, 123, suitable for being respectively covered by closure bands 113, 115, 117, 119 corresponding.

Similarly, the fourth panel 105 is attached, in correspondence with a seventh end fold line 124, to a third closing flap 125, suitable to be covered by the respective second and fourth closure bands 115, 119.

The first fixing edge 110 is shaped substantially in L presenting a thin section 127, adjacent to the third fin 125, and a widened section 128, adjacent to the tongue 2.

In the first closing band 113 the semi-finished 100 has an extension, indicated as a whole with 3, which, by folding and assembly operations, provides a stage to the carton according to the present invention.

Said extension 3 comprises a base section 129 of said first closure band 113 adjacent to the free edge 111. Said base section 129 is extended, towards the free edge 111, with a closing edge of closure 130 and, as an extension of the first panel 102, with a first side closure band 131 of the closure, substantially trapezoidal. Such elements are joined to the base section 129 by a first folding line of closure 132 and by a second fold folding line 133. The first closing fold line 132 constitutes the extension of the free edge 111.

On the first panel 102 a broken line facilitated 134, consisting of a succession of through incisions, which delimits a second lateral closing edge 135 of the closure, speculate with the first. Closing edges laterals 131, 135 extend, in accordance with the edge of closure 130 closure, respective first and second fins of closure 136, 137, attached to extension 3 by respective third and fourth fold folding lines 138, 139.

The closing fins 136 and 137 are shaped trapezoidal so that, folded under the closing edge 130, they form a V step.

With reference to figures 2 to 9, it will be described the procedure for assembling the semi-finished monobloc of the Figure 1.

This procedure requires the application of glue on the first fixing edge 110 in correspondence with the widened section 128 which is conveniently covered by a varnish layer 140 that limits the absorption of the glue by the semi-finished material, after which the fixing edge 110 adheres to the inner face of the first panel 102, with the fourth lateral fold line 109 superimposed on the free edge 111 (figure 4).

This union determines the formation of respective and opposite pairs of first and second side walls and third and fourth side walls 4, 5, 6 and 7. At this point the second and fourth closing bands 115, 119, with the first and third closure fins 123 and 125 are folded into the case of cardboard in the process of formation, obtaining a bottom wall 8 and making possible the filling of the container thus obtained.

Filling can be done with any material or product suitable for conditioning with this box of cardboard, in the form of powder or discrete elements (confetti, pearls, etc.).

It will be observed that a possible layer of glue on layer 140 will join the second side band of closure 135 with the fixing band 110.

Next, the first closing flap 122 it is folded into the cardboard box in formation and with the same unidirectional movement, the tab 2 outwards (figure 5). At this point, the extension 3 is folded down, so that it is anchored on the side opposite of the second side wall 5, together with the first band of closure 113 and with the first lateral band of closure 131, which will adhere to the second side wall 6 (figure 6).

A tail point 141 is disposed on the first closure band 113 and on it the third band of folds closure 117, determining an upper wall 9, while the section base 129 will cover the empty part of said wall, or a access side of the cardboard box in the process of training.

On the first closure band of closure 130, possibly raised to cover this position, a second tail point 142 while the closing fins 136, 137 they are attached to the respective third side wall 6 (figure 7).

The closing band closing closure 130 determines the formation of the closing front wall 10, on the third side wall 6, and the respective side walls closure 11, 12 on the first and second side walls 4, 5.

The closing walls 10, 11, 12 form a closure 13 of a cardboard box 1 (figure 10), which covers one side of access 14. Tab 2 will be able to stand under the step 15 determined by the folding of the closing fins 136, 137, forming a latching mechanism.

The first opening of the closure 13 may have place by breaking the breaking line 134 thanks to the simple forced lifting of the closure 13.

As a whole, cardboard box 1 therefore it will comprise a parallelepiped box-shaped structure, with four side walls 4, 5, 6, 7 and two end walls: bottom 8 and upper 9, the latter being partially open to form a access side 14 which in turn has a respective edge of crimped, represented by the eighth end fold line 126, an outstanding tongue 2.

The closure 13 is formed by said extension 3 of the semi-finished monoblock 100 in correspondence with a first edge 16 of the access side 14, edge 16 on which it rests said first end fold line 112 in the section which separates the first panel 102 from the base section 129.

The closure is rotatably connected to the upper wall 9 by a hinge that is represented by a ninth end bend line 143 that separates the stretch of base 129 of the upper wall 9.

Extension 3 is anchored in correspondence with the second edge 17 of the access side 14, opposite the first edge 16, so that the internal surface of the closure results an outstanding step 15 capable of constituting a stop point for said tab 2.

It will be observed how, by effect of the dimensions different from the semi-finished side panels, the box of cardboard 1 presents the characteristic shape of a brick, with two narrow faces and two wide faces.

It is also observed how said extension 3 is attached to the edge of a wide panel, so that the hinge of the closure 9 is parallel to a short edge rather than parallel, or better corresponding, with a long edge.

In the assembly of semi-finished 100 before described it is important to note that:

*

After filling, the carton 1 is formed by movement along a line on whose flow some bars and other folding and pressing elements work of bands and fins;

*

for the closure of the cardboard box 1 complete and for the formation of the Four applications of glue or other adhesive are sufficient: on the fixing edge 110, in correspondence with the wall of bottom 8, upper wall 9 and front closing wall 10;

the presence of the absorption limit layer 140 prevents closure 13 tear the cardboard box 1 during the first opening, even if glue was interposed between the respective side wall of the closure 11 and the fixing edge 110;

he closure that closes by snagging is formed on a portion narrowed of an end wall of the cardboard box 1, allowing a product supply mainly contained checked; Y

the joint extension of the semi-finished monoblock is particularly reduced, in addition to being formed in correspondence with a panel of wide side wall, because a different arrangement would not have closing of the closure on the short side of the box is allowed paperboard.

The cardboard box 1 therefore comprises some antiefraction means, constituted by the broken line provided  134 whose irreversible breakage is necessary for the opening of the closure 13. In other words, to open cardboard box 1 would be necessary to force one of the tail points so irreversible.

In addition to the advantages mentioned above, the cardboard boxes described above allow a supply controlled, not casual but anyway easily realizable.

Claims (5)

1. Cardboard box (1) with an articulated closure by crimping (13), box-shaped and suitable for containing a product that can be supplied through an access side (14) formed on one of its faces, on which said closure rests (13), being formed substantially in one piece, in which, in its three-dimensional form it comprises:

a parallelepiped box-shaped structure, with four side walls (4, 5, 6, 7) and two end walls (8, 9), of which one is partially open to form an access side (14) that at its once it has, on a respective crimping edge (126), an protruding tongue (2), said structure being obtained from a semi-finished monoblock (100) comprising four panels (102, 103, 104, 105), all rectangular and with the same length, arranged in sequence parallel to each other, respectively, to form said side walls (4, 5, 6, 7), characterized in that said protruding tongue (2) extends from one end of one of the ends of one of said four panels (102, 103, 104, 105); and because it also includes:

a closure (13), formed by an extension (3) of the semi-finished monoblock (100) connected to one end of one of said four panels (102, 103, 104, 105), and extending with an edge of closure (130) perpendicular to the common development of said four rectangular panels (102, 103, 104, 105), presenting said closing edge (130) two trapezoidal fins (136, 137) intended to fold under the closing edge to form a step suitable for serving as a stop for said tongue (2), being said extension (3) arranged in such a way that it is lowered and fold after the formation of said side walls (4, 5, 6, 7), around an axis that is perpendicular to the common development of said four rectangular panels (102, 103, 104, 105), for Join the opposite panel regarding your connection.

2. Cardboard box (1) according to claim 1, wherein said extension (3) is connected to one end of one of said four panels (102, 103, 104, 105) in a corner of said semi-finished monobloc (100). 3.
