Abstract

An improved disposable diaper, comprising: an absorbent pad having a fluid impervious backing sheet at least partially defining a back pad surface, a front surface, a pair of side edges, a pair of terminal edges connecting the side edges, and a couple of waist line portions; a waste cover adjacent an edge of the pad, said cover comprising a sheet of flexible material being folded transversely to a reduced dimension configuration, said sheet having a width and length sufficient to pass over remote portions of the pad and provide a cover for the dirty pad after being used on the diaper; and means for securing the lateral regions of the folded sheet together and retaining the secured sheet to a pad surface to provide access to a sufficient area of the sheet to cover the diaper.
