Packaging for packaging and presentation, on a sales platform, of items grouped in batches, which has a general parallelepipedic shape, which comprises in combination a cardboard tray (3) that, serving as a support for the items ( 2), comprises a bottom (5) delimited along three of its edges by three sides (6, 7), namely two longitudinal sides and a transverse side, the fourth edge being free, and a cover (4) of cardboard which, being destined to cover the articles (2) and to be fixed on the tray (3), closes at least partially the packaging along the edge of the latter that has no side, presenting the bottom (5) of the tray a rectangular shape, and the edge having no side oriented in the sense of width, characterized in that the height of the cover (4) corresponds to the height of the packaging; the cover is fitted on the outside of the tray (3); the transverse wall (10, 12) of the cover (4) located on the side of the tray having the transverse side comprises a bottom part emptied with the shape of the transverse side (7) of the tray, such that said wall transverse (10, 12) of the cover and the transverse side (7) of the tray are located in the same plane, the cover (4) being fixed by points, for example by gluing, on the tray, at the edge level tray lengths.

Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover comprises a bottom (8) having substantially the same surface as that of the tray (3) extended by two panels (9) of height and length corresponding to those of the cover, each panel being provided with two turns (10, 12) each intended to form a part of one of the transverse walls of the cover, the bottom along its two transverse edges comprising two glued legs on said turns (10, 12), designed to ensure the maintenance of the cover (4) in the mounted position.

Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover (4) is constituted by an American half-frame, comprising four panels (24, 25) forming a belt, delimiting the four walls of the cover, each panel being provided with a extension (26, 27), forming the four extensions (26, 27) assembled together the bottom of the roof.

Packaging according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the cover comprises on its upper face and along its vertical edges, on the side of the tray (3) that lacks a transverse side, a precut (13) which it allows to tear off a part of the upper face and the corresponding end wall of the cover.

Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover (4) is constituted by an American half-shell in two parts (20, 22) arranged side by side, joined together in a breakable manner, at least the part being of the cover located on the open side of the tray fixed by points, for example by gluing (14), on the longitudinal sides (6) of the tray.
