Abstract
Central eléctrica de nitroglicerina. La central eléctrica se basa en utilizar uno o varios motores de grandes dimensiones cuyos cilindros son alimentados por una mezcla de glicerina y ácido nítrico, de manera que la fuerza originada por la explosión de la mezcla se aplica precisamente para mover el motor. Los dos componentes (glicerina y ácido nítrico) acceden a los cilindros al igual que la gasolina accede al motor de cuatro tiempos, de manera que una vez producido el arranque y el motor haya adquirido su temperatura, la referida mezcla actúa por auto- explosión. A la salida del eje-cigüeñal del motor va acoplado un generador encargado de transformar la energía mecánica producida por aquel en energía eléctrica. La central incluye seis compartimentaciones diferentes e independientes: una para los motores y generadores (1); otra para el ácido nítrico (2); otra para la glicerina (3); otra para suministro de energía eléctrica (4); otra para equipos de refrigeración (5) y otra para la misión decontaminantes (6).
