Abstract

Reactivo de látex para la detección de anticuerpos frente a Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Se describe un procedimiento (test de inmunodiagnóstico) para detectar y cuantificar anticuerpos específicos de Mycoplasma pneumoniae presentes en muestras serológicas, mediante la aglutinación-sedimentación de partículas de látex sensibilizadas con un antígeno lipídico de Mycoplasma pneumoniae. Asimismo se describe el método de obtención de las partículas de látex sensibilizadas y el tampón de reacción donde se desarrolla la inmunorreacción. El desarrollo del inmunodiagnóstico tiene lugar en los pocillos de una placa de microtitulación mezclando las partículas sensibilizadas con muestras de sueros humanos en un tampón de reacción específico. La presencia en el suero de anticuerpos frente Mycoplasma pneumoniae se detecta mediante la aglutinación de las partículas de látex sensibilizadas. La ausencia de anticuerpos específicos se detecta mediante la sedimentación de éstas partículas. Este test de inmunodiagnóstico es económico, técnicamente simple, tiene una elevada estabilidad temporal y presenta unos niveles de sensibilidad y especificidad adecuados.
