Abstract

Modelos animales transgénicos en Drosophila para las distrofias miotónicas. La invención trata de la aplicación de un transgén que incluye, total o parcialmente, la secuencia génica muscleblind, de Drosophila o sus homólogas en humanos (por ejemplo, MBNL), a un modelo animal transgénico. Este modelo transgénico se ha obtenido mediante la integración estable del transgén en el genoma de Drosophila melanogaster. En dichos animales, el transgén se expresa fenotípicamente, de forma controlada, en cualquiera de sus estados de desarrollo. Los modelos animales de la invención son de aplicación en la investigación de los mecanismos de patogénesis responsables de las distrofias miotónicas, como dispositivos de ensayo de posibles compuestos terapéuticos para el tratamiento de dichas enfermedades y como dispositivos de validación in vivo de tratamientos potenciales de las mismas.
