Procedimiento para la preparación de un 1, 1, 1-trifluor-2-aminoalcano de fórmula I **(Fórmula)** en donde R1 representa un grupo alquilo opcionalmente sustituido; que comprende calentar una mezcla de un compuesto de fórmula II **(Fórmula)** en donde R1 se define como anteriormente y R2 representa un grupo arilo opcionalmente sustituido; una amina primaria; y una base consistente en una amina terciaria; y/o un diluyente inerte; caracterizado porque el compuesto de fórmula I se separa por destilación durante el procedimiento de calentamiento.
