Abstract

Una rótula, y en particular una rótula de dirección o de suspensión para un automóvil, que comprende un pivote que presenta una cabeza esférica, una caja de rótula que presenta un alojamiento destinado a recibir dicha cabeza de pivote, y un cojinete de material plástico intercalado o interpuesto entre la cabeza del pivote y el alojamiento de la caja, donde dicho cojinete (5) de la rótula está constituido por un cuenco o copa moldeado en una sola pieza, cerrado por su lado de fondo y que presenta, una vez moldeado, - una superficie esférica interna (9) que se extiende sobre un ángulo sólido correspondiente a más de un hemisferio, - una abertura circular (12) de un diámetro inferior al diámetro de la superficie esférica interna (9), situada opuestamente al fondo (11), caracterizada por - una pluralidad de zonas de ruptura (16) de pequeño espesor, repartidas sobre el contorno de la parte de abertura y que se extienden desde dicha abertura (12) en dirección al plano ecuatorial de la superficieesférica (9), dispuesto paralelamente al plano de dicha abertura, estando conformadas dichas zonas de ruptura (16) de modo que sufran, cada una de ellas, una rotura predefinida en dos secciones en el momento de una primera dilatación de la parte de abertura, y que permitan, después de la inserción de la cabeza (2) del pivote (1) en el cojinete (5), un reapriete elástico de la parte de abertura acompañado de la recolocación exacta de las dos secciones de cada zona de ruptura (16) en torno a la cabeza del pivote.
