Abstract

Un aparato (1) para la purificación de aguas residuales con gas con contenido de oxígeno, que consta de: una caja (2) que consta de paredes inferior y laterales (4,8); una entrada de gas situada en una parte inferior de la caja y una entrada de agua (10) situada en la parte superior de la caja (2); estando la entrada de gas (10) conectada a un distribuidor de gas (26) y estando la entrada de agua (12) conectada a un distribuidor de agua (32), estando situados el distribuidor de gas (26) y el distribuidor de agua (32)en el interior de la caja (2); una salida de agua (16) situada debajo de la entrada de gas (10) y una salida de gas (18) situada en la parte superior de la caja (2); un material de filtración (38) contenido en el interior de la caja (2) para proporcionar adsorción y/o absorción de las aguas residuales, la capacidad de intercambio iónico con las aguas residuales, nutrientes y soporte para la colonización y crecimiento de microorganismos adaptados para degradar los contaminantes contenidos en las aguas residuales en contacto con el gas, por el cual pueden fluir las aguas residuales y el gas, garantizando la purificación de las aguas residuales citadas; en el que el gas suministrado a través de la entrada de gas (10) se desplaza sustancialmente hacia arriba a través del material de filtración (38) para escapar por la salida de gas (18) y las aguas residuales suministradas a través de la entrada de agua (12) se desplazan hacia abajo a través del material de filtración (38) para escapar por la salida de agua (16), y en el que el material de filtración (38) se caracteriza porque aumenta de modo descendente la capacidad de biofiltración para evitar la obstrucción del material de filtración (38) con el flujo descendente de aguas residuales, a la vez que evita la pérdida negativa del flujo ascendente de gas y en el que el material de filtración citado consta de al menos unacapa (46,50) que incluye un material portador orgánico de filtración y un material portador estructural en una cantidad suficiente para evitar la compactación del material de filtración y la formación de canales.
