LA DINAMICA DE LOS SENSORES DE IMAGENES HABITUALES NO ES SUFICIENTE PARA PROCESAR LOS CONTRASTES DE LUMINOSIDAD QUE SE PRODUCEN EN MUCHAS SITUACIONES. LOS PROCESOS DE MEJORA DINAMICA PUBLICADOS HASTA AHORA MUESTRAN UNOS INCONVENIENTES CONSIDERABLES PARA APLICACIONES PRACTICAS. LOS SENSORES DE IMAGENES PRODUCIDOS MEDIANTE EL NUEVO PROCESO SE PRETENDE QUE UNAN UNA MAYOR DINAMICA A UNA FACILIDAD DE USO. PARA EVITAR LA SOBREEXPOSICION O BAJA ILUMINACION DE LOS PIXELES QUE SE PRODUCE CON CONTRASTES DE IMAGENES ELEVADOS, CADA PIXEL CONTIENE UN CONTROL AUTOADAPTATIVO LOCAL. CON AYUDA DE ESTE CONTROL CADA PIXEL FINALIZA AUTOMATICAMENTE SU PERIODO DE INTEGRACION, EN CUANTO HA INTEGRADO UNA FOTOCORRIENTE SUFICIENTE. UNA SEÑAL ANALOGICA REPRESENTA LA LONGITUD DEL PERIODO DE INTEGRACION SELECCIONADA POR EL PIXEL. REPRESENTA JUNTO CON LA SEÑAL DE PIXEL INTEGRADA UNA INFORMACION DE LUMINOSIDAD CON UNA DINAMICA ELEVADA, CON UNOS REQUISITOS REDUCIDOS EN CUANTO A LA DINAMICA DE LAS SEÑALES INDIVIDUALES. LOSSENSORES DE IMAGENES SON ADECUADOS, A CAUSA DE LA AUTOADAPTABILIDAD LOCAL, PARA TODOS LOS CAMPOS APLICATIVOS EN LOS QUE DEBEN TRATARSE CONTRASTES DE LUMINOSIDAD ELEVADOS, COMO POR EJEMPLO GUIADO DE VEHICULOS EN TRAFICO, PELICULAS SOBRE NATURALEZA O ASTRONOMIA.
