Abstract

Self-contained thermo-electric unit with combustion engine, electrical generator, heat and recovery pump, storage and distribution of energy. The use of a combustion engine to drive the compressor of a heat pump provides a second source of power which is derived from the residual heat of the engine and stored in the cooling system and exhaust gases. The combustion engine drives an electrical generator directly and, only when considered necessary, the heat pump compressor. No existing device enables this combination of electrical and thermal power to be recovered. This system has a total energy storage system (thermal and electrical) for the case in which it is more efficient in terms of power to shut down the engine when checks make it necessary. In this way there is automatic heating that does not require power to be supplied from the mains for its operation, which represents a complete solution to the problem of supplying power for housing.
