Abstract

Projectile firing system. The present invention refers to a projectile firing system in which the traditional impulsion system is replaced by asynchronous magnetic impulsion. It takes advantage of the force of attraction of a magnetic field on a projectile with a casing, made of ferromagnetic material, housing the content of the projectile. The magnetic field is generated by an electric current of sufficient voltage running through a series of coils whose core is the projectile inside the cannon. Current is fed to the coils sequentially so as to displace the projectile inside the cannon, with the magnetic force attracting or impelling the projectile being similarly displaced. The objective is for the energy of the force of attraction of the ferromagnetic projectile to be appropriately transformed into the projectile's movement.
